DanceHouse announces 2023/24 season at DanceHouse

DanceHouse announces its 2023/24 season of bold and transformative works from around the globe, on Vancouver stages from July 2023 through April 2024. Seven esteemed companies and choreographers offer distinct and fearless worldviews, deconstructing and reinventing dance norms across multiple dance genres from flamenco, tap, Indian classical dance, and contemporary hybrids. Five companies make their DanceHouse debuts including the long-anticipated presentation from Spain’s Compañía Rocío Molina with the Canadian premiere of Fallen from Heaven (Caída del Cielo); Toronto's Nova Dance with the BC premiere of Svh!; Australia’s Gravity and Other Myths with the North American premiere of The Mirror; Norway’s Elle Sofe Sara with the BC premiere of Vástádus eana - The answer is land; and Toronto’s Côté Danse with the BC premiere of X (Dix). Returning DanceHouse favourites include a world premiere from Vancouver’s Kidd Pivot and New York City’s Dorrance Dance brings the season to a thunderous close with the Canadian premiere of SOUNDspace.
