'Baby's Breath,' written and directed by Jeana Scotti, tells the story of Beatrice, who has recently found out about an unexpected pregnancy. Going against nature and biology, the baby is developing inside her lung. This unborn baby takes Beatrice, her roommate, the baby's unsupportive father and an obsessive shoe salesman on a journey of life, breath and selflessness. Its world premiere will be presented tonight, September 1, through September 5 at Producers' Club Theaters, 358 West 44th Street by Theater for the New City's 2015 Dream Up Festival. (more...)

Tarot Show is a blend of physical theatre, chance operation, audience participation, multimedia and live music. A reading of seven tarot cards, selected at the beginning of each performance, dictate both the story arch and the characters that appear throughout the evening. Working like a Rubik's cube of twenty-two distinct vignettes, the trump cards from the tarot deck: The Magician, The Fool, The High Priestess come to life in new permutations every night. The resulting 'choose-your-own-adventure' performance combines structure and chaos, synchronicity and entropy. (more...)

Margaret Juntwait, American radio broadcaster and the voice of the Metropolitan Opera radio broadcasts, debuted in this position on December 11, 2004, replacing Peter Allen upon his retirement after 29 years. She lost her life to cancer on June 3, 2015, after serving as host of the program for ten seasons. There will be a memorial service for Margaret on Wednesday, September 16 at 5 p.m in Juilliard's Peter Jay Sharp Theater. (more...)
