TV: Karen Mason Introduces Old and New Favorites in FOR THE FIRST TIME at Birdland
Award-winning Broadway and cabaret star Karen Mason will debut a brand-new show entitled FOR THE FIRST TIME at the Birdland Theater. Directed by Barry Kleinbort and music direction by Christopher Denny, FOR THE FIRST TIME will feature songs written by the songwriters Mason has known throughout her career. Some of these songs were written for her, others were demos, and some will be included just because she enjoys the songs, but none of them have ever been sung by Mason in any of her previous cabaret shows.
I sat down with Mason in her dressing room at Birdland for a fun-filled chat. Check out the video!
FOR THE FIRST TIME will play at Birdland Theater at 7:00 on March 20th through the 23rd. For tickets and information, visit birdlandjazz.com.
