Eight O'Clock Theatre will open their new production of SINGIN' IN THE RAIN beginning tonight, October 30th at the Largo Cultural Center in Tampa. The production stars Jonathon Pouliot as Don Lockwood and Jessica Bishop as Lina LaMont and is directed by Rand Smith.

SINGIN' IN THE RAIN takes place in Hollywood in 1927, just as movies are beginning to transition from silent films to ‘talkies'. Stuntman-turned-movie-heartthrob Don Lockwood and his beautiful co-star Lina Lamont are teamed up once again to film Monumental Pictures' The Dueling Cavalier. While filming they learn that the studio, in order to compete with Warner Bros. success, has decided to turn Cavalier into a talkie, but there's one problem: Lina's silent film beauty doesn't match her voice, or her personality, and the film's success is in jeopardy. Don's lifelong pal and vaudeville partner CosMo Brown suggests using the charming voice of the up-and-coming actress Kathy Selden to replace Lina's unbearably shrill screeching. Cavalier is now destined to be a hit, but Lina is furious and trouble ensues. Funny and romantic, Singin' In The Rain has been described as "one of the best musicals of all time" featuring classics like "Singin' in the Rain," "Fit as a Fiddle," "All I Do Is Dream of You," "Make 'Em Laugh," "Beautiful Girl," "Would You?," "Broadway Melody" and "Moses Supposes."

The cast includes Jonathon Pouliot, George Cahill, Katie DeHetre, Jessica Bishop, Kate Gaudet, Margee Murray, Ronnie Farley, Deana Varitimos, Dennis Winchester, Tom Morabito, Brian Chunn, Rick Stutzel, Kris Doubles, Jim Luscombe, Rachel Brinker, Neil Brown, Mike Cuttler, Cengiz Dokumaci, Steven Fox, D. Katherine Grace, Carrie Hemenway, Adele Luxa, Colleen Marvel, Gina Sackman, Barbara Sharf, and Stephanie Yarbrough.

Performances for SINGIN' IN THE RAIN take place Thursday through Saturday at 8:00pm and Sundays at 2:00pm. Tickets range in price from $16 to $26, with discounts available for groups and students age 19 and under. Tickets can be purchased online at www.eightoclocktheatre.com or through the box office at 727-587-6793. The show runs October 30th through November 15th.
