The Repertory Theatre of St. Louis (The Rep) has made a change to the previously announced Mainstage season. Due to a schedule conflict that has developed for the performers (who are also the authors), Louis and Keely: Live at the Sahara will no longer be included on the schedule. Over the Tavern, which was scheduled to close The Rep season will now be presented in the holiday slot December 1 through 26.

The new show added to the season is Beehive, The 60's Musical created by Larry Gallagher. From Aretha Franklin to Janis Joplin, Beehive is a musical tribute to the ladies who unmistakably left their mark on 60's music and features "Respect," "Natural Woman," "My Boyfriend's Back," "One Fine Day," "Downtown" and more! Beehive will run March 16 through April 10, 2011.

"While we don't like to make substitutions, we think this change will be advantageous for all. Producing Over the Tavern as our holiday show will bring lots of laughter and cheer to our audiences. It is a family-friendly show, that all can enjoy. Beehive is a fabulous way to close out the season. It has an awesome song list and we know that a great time is going to be had by everyone who sees the show. You may want to dance in the aisles. What fun it's going to be," said Steve Woolf, Artistic Director.

Beehive, The 60's Musical, described as "pure irresistible fun" by The New York Times, has a track record of being wildly successful wherever it has played and is sure to create quite a buzz for St. Louis audiences.

The other four productions that make up the six-show Mainstage series remain unchanged. The season opens at the Loretto-Hilton Center for the Performing Arts (130 Edgar Road, Webster Groves) on September 8, 2010 with the classic Kaufman and Hart comedy You Can't Take It With You.

Other productions in the Mainstage series, which continues through April 2011, include the World Premiere, pre-Broadway production of Matthew Lombardo's High starring Kathleen Turner; The Fall of Heaven, a new play by renowned mystery writer Walter Mosley; and Shakespeare's most chilling tragedy, Macbeth.

As always, the three-show Studio Theatre season will be announced later in the summer.
