Cabaret Photos - US Tour

Attending the opening performance of Kander & Ebb’s Cabaret at the award winning Barrington Stage Company Sunday took on an added degree of darkness for me because of the current political situation in our country.  

Music Theater Heritage has released photos of its new production of CABARET today. The production is directed by MTH Artistic Director Tim Scott and features Christopher Barksdale as the iconic Emcee and Julie Pope as Sally Bowles.

Wilkommen, bienvenue, and welcome Cabaret to the Goodspeed Stage! The classic musical makes its premiere on the Goodspeed Stage and runs now through July 3rd, 2022.

CABARET, winner of the 1967 Tony Award for Best Score and Best Musical and the 1998 Tony Award for Best Revival of a Musical will play the White Plains Performing Arts Center stage August 3-12.

As BroadwayWorld sadly reported earlier this week, Marni Nixon, perhaps best known for dubbing the singing voices of the leading actresses in films, including THE KING AND I, WEST SIDE STORY and MY FAIR LADY, passed away from breast cancer on July 24th. She was 86.

On the first Sunday of each month at Kritzerland at Sterling's Upstairs at The Federal, dinner cabaret nights are presented to packed houses. Due to the Oscars, this month's event was held on Monday, March 3, saluting THE PRINCE AND THE SHOWTUNE: A TRIBUTE TO HAROLD PRINCE whose career has spanned over sixty years and who, as producer and/or director is responsible for some of the greatest musical theater triumphs of all time.

Westport Country Playhouse will stage the British farce, 'Loot,' a wickedly funny send-up of larcenous, lascivious behavior among the English middle classes, written by Joe Orton and directed by David Kennedy, Playhouse associate artistic director, playing now through August 3. The play won the coveted Evening Standard Award for Best Play in 1967. BroadwayWorld has a first look at the cast in action below!

On Monday, November 14, Sonnet Repertory Theatre hosted its Tenth Annual Benefit and Cabaret. The event brought together a diverse and talented group of performers and composers at Joe's Pub to honor award-winning director and teacher, Gerald Freedman. Celebrating Freedman's career, this evening featured some of Broadway's greatest talents and legends, including Brian d'Arcy James, Jennifer Ferrin, Penny Fuller, Hal Holbrook, Rebecca Naomi Jones, Jeremy Jordan, Kevin Kline, Patti LuPone, Terrence Mann, John Mauceri, Estelle Parsons, Austin Pendleton, Bryce Pinkham,Wesley Taylor, Alfred Uhry, Price Waldman, and Emily Young, and including special video tributes by Olympia Dukakis and Chita Rivera. Up and coming singer/actors (and identical twins) Will Nunziata and Anthony Nunziata, have joined creative forces with popular director Richard Jay-Alexander on a new concert/cabaret act to debut at Feinstein's at the Loews Regency in New York City. The Feinstein's dates are set for Monday September 21st and Monday October 5th, 2009, as part of the prestigious monday night series and, in this particular instance, with a personal invitation from the club's John Iachetti - who put the boys together with their director.

The international smash hit musical CABARET, directed and choreographed by Jeff Award winner Jim Corti, who also understudied Joel Grey on the National Tour of the Broadway revival, previews August 13, opens August 19 and runs through October 11 at Drury Lane Oakbrook, 100 Drury Lane, Oakbrook Terrace.

Academy and Tony Award-Winning actor and photographer Joel Grey celebrated the release of his new book, titled 1.3 - Images from My Phone, at Barnes at Noble Tribeca (97 Warren St. at Greenwich St.) on Tuesday, May 26 at 7:00 p.m. The book, published by powerHouse, is Grey's third published book of photographs and will be available in stores nationwide June 2.
