The Importance of Being Earnest Photos - West End

In 2017 Gary Young (Director) delivered a reimagined production of MAMMA MIA!. In 2023, this production has been revived with a new cast and a more compelling expression of the underlying coming of age love stories to the delight of audiences, many of which are familiar with the franchise that extended from Phylida Lloyd’s original stage production that premiered on the West End in 1999 and transitioned to film in 2008.

Generation Games is set to return to the White Bear Theatre in Kennington from tonight until 22nd April. 

From the award-winning Anna Jordan (Killing Eve, Sid Gentle Films Ltd; Succession, HBO), written between the Brexit vote and Trump's Presidential victory, We Anchor in Hope captures a moment of deep uncertainty in recent history and the characters' lives when local pub, The Anchor, closes for good. Chaos is in the air, and yet life goes on. For the duration of the play's run The Bunker will become The Anchor - transformed into a functioning pub with post-show events including pub quizzes, karaoke nights and music.

The Walnut Street Theatre opens its 2019-20 Independence Studio on 3 season with Steve Martin's new comedy, METEOR SHOWER. Directed by Debi Marcucci, the production begins previews on September 10, opens September 19, and has already been extended through October 27.

Gingold Theatrical Group presents the final presentation of the 13th Season of Project Shaw, a special series of evenings offering some of Shaw's greatest works and those who share his fierce 'art as activism' precepts, presented monthly at Leonard Nimoy Thalia at Peter Norton Symphony Space (2537 Broadway at 95th Street). The acclaimed 2018 season concluded on December 17th with Shaw contemporary Arthur Wing Pinero's The Enchanted Cottage.

Everyman Theatre's next show in the 2018-2019 season is The Importance of Being Earnest, a light-hearted romantic comedy packed with twists, turns, and witty repartee. Directed by Joseph W. Ritsch Artistic Director of Rep Stage, the tale of worlds turned topsy-turvy with assumed identities lampoons the absurdity of Victorian virtues. The Everyman production showcases a subtext that is as relevant today as it was to its intended 19th-century audience-Wilde's 'bachelor' compatriots-inside jokes abound through subtly scripted details. The play runs December 4 - December 30, 2018. 

Connecticut Repertory Theatre (CRT) continues its 2018-19 season with Paula Vogel's "A Civil War Christmas: An American Musical Celebration." Elizabeth VanDyke will direct. The play opens in an unnamed Southern town of medium population on a somnolent cracker morning - meaning no matter the early temperature, it's gonna get hot.  Artists Repertory Theatre presents I and You by Lauren Gunderson as the final production of their 2017/18 season. Gunderson is the most-produced playwright in America for the second year in a row. She is a recipient of a Dramatist Guild Award, the Susan Smith Blackburn Prize, won the 2018 Steinberg for The Book of Will, and won the Steinberg American Theatre Critics Association New Play Award in 2014 for this revelatory drama. I and You runs from May 20 through June 17 on the Morrison Stage.

Charlie Brooks and Patrick Ryecart will play Sally and Mike respectively in the UK tour and London run of Torben Betts's new play MONOGAMY, joining the previously announced Janie Dee as Caroline Mortimer. They are joined by Jack Archer as Leo, Genevieve Gaunt as Amanda and Jack Sandle as Graeme.

Classic Spring is delighted to announce real-life father and son, Edward and Freddie Fox, are to play fictional father and son in Oscar Wilde's An Ideal Husband, from 20 April at the Vaudeville theatre. Also starring, in the role of Mrs. Cheveley, is Frances Barber. Directed by Jonathan Church, An Ideal Husband will play at the Vaudeville Theatre 20 April to 14 July 2018, before opening the Theatre Royal Bath Summer Season on 18 July to 4 August 2018.

Hale Centre Theatre in Gilbert presents No, No, Nanette, a delightful Broadway musical by Otto Harbach and Frank Mandel. The lighthearted romp transports us back in time to the roaring 1920's where we meet three couples in the midst of a blackmail scheme. We meet Tom who wants to marry Nanette, Jimmy who is secretly the financial benefactor to 3 single young ladies, unbeknown to his frugal wife, Sue. And finally Billy, who is tasked with cleaning up Jimmy's mess, helping Tom win over Nanette, and keeping his own wife, Lucille, from getting suspicious!
