Last night students at Revere High School brought musical theater back to the school after a 30 year intermission with a production of Lin-Manuel Miranda's In the Heights.

Josh Peck appeared on the TODAY Show this morning to discuss his role in the upcoming film adaption of 13: the Musical. Peck described how he prepared for his role as a rabbi in the upcoming film and looked back on his Broadway-themed bar mativah. Watch the new video interview now!

The much anticipated film adaptation of In the Heights has officially arrived, and though we can't get enough of the new movie, it has us feeling a little bit nostalgic for the original. Watch as BroadwayWorld's own Richard Ridge takes us to the opening night of this landmark musical in 2008.

Billy Elliot made a huge splash in London in 2005 before it crossed the Atlantic. The Broadway production opened at the Imperial Theatre on November 13, 2008, where it remained for over three years and 1312 performances. The show made Tony winners of its three pint-sized leading men (David Álvarez, Trent Kowalik and Kiril Kulish) and picked up nine other Tonys that season. The production also notabley starred Haydn Gwynne, Gregory Jbara and a young, future Tony-winner, Santino Fontana.

A-D-D-D-D-F#-A were the first notes of the show last Monday night, as the Actors Fund brought back the beloved fan favorite and critically acclaimed musical [title of show] in a reunion concert at The Broadhurst Theatre. This one-night only reunion starred original cast members Hunter Bell, Susan Blackwell, Heidi Blickenstaff and Jeff Bowen along with musical director Larry Pressgrove. On last night's LATE SHOW, 'Downsizing' star Matt Damon looked back on his fondest and most tainted memories tied to the movie that defined his early adult life: 'Good Will Hunting.'

Last night, Broadway superstar, Lin-Manuel Miranda hosted Saturday Night Live to great acclaim. Although some may have doubted whether someone whose fame stems from a theatre career would have the star wattage necessary to pull in a nationwide audience, the ratings have proven otherwise! According to CarterMatt: 'As a whole, the show drew a 5.2 household rating on average, which ties the best total for a second episode since James Franco hosted all the way back with Kings of Leon in 2008. Meanwhile, its 18-49 demo rating of a 2.4 is the best for the show since 2013, which is when Miley Cyrus served as both the host and the musical guest for the evening.' This bodes well not only for Mr. Miranda, but hopefully for the future of other theatre industry powerhouses and crossover talents, such as Laura Benanti, receiving hosting spots as well!

On May 3, Robert Britton Lyons, Million Dollar Quartet's original Carl Perkins, returned home to the Nederlander stage in the hit production. Lyons is just back from West End, where he originated the role of Perkins in Million Dollar Quartet for London audiences. Original co-star Hunter Foster rejoined the produciton on May 3, as well.
