BWW Exclusive: Dame Judi Dench Discusses Shakespeare, Her Passion, CATS, Potential Broadway Return
by Matt Tamanini - May 27, 2016

When I asked her why, despite a career spanning more than five and a half decades, and nearly every major acting award the world over, she continues to return to the plays of William Shakespeare, in a tone exceedingly gentle, yet slightly dismayed that the question need even be asked, she said, 'Cause that's my passion, Matt.' BWW Review: Wilbury Theatre Group's Meandering JERUSALEM
by Andria Tieman - May 24, 2016

Wilbury Theatre Group closes out their 2015-2016 season with JERUSALEM by Jez Butterworth.  It's a skillfully directed production with a few standout performances, but unfortunately is bogged down by an overlong story that doesn't deliver much tension until after the two hour mark and suffers from some clumsy accent work.  It's an ambitious project for the Wilbury group to take on, and the sets and costumes are absolutely perfect for the story, unfortunately the source material is the main problem and its cliche' plot and incredibly slow pacing just never really deliver. Johnna Adams is a consummate storyteller: employing fantasy and fiction, conjecture and supposition, she weaves together a tale that is at once intensely intriguing and enormously off-putting, using her skill as a writer to transport her audience to an otherworldly place that exists only in her imagination and, perhaps, in The Woods and hollows of north Georgia.
