Utah Shakespeare Festival Receives $10,000 NEA Grant

National Endowment for the Arts (NEA) Acting Chairman Joan Shigekawa announced today that the Utah Shakespeare Festival is one of 886 nonprofit organizations nationwide to receive an NEA Art Works grant. The Festival is recommended for a $10,000 grant to support the world premiere adaptation of Jane Austen's Sense and Sensibility. (more...)

PlayMakers Awarded NEA Art Works Grant for 2014 Repertory Productions

National Endowment for the Arts (NEA) Acting Chairman Joan Shigekawa announced today that PlayMakers Repertory Company will receive a $50,000 NEA Art Works grant for its fall 2014 repertory productions. Harvey, a time-honored classic comedy, opens April 25, 2014 and runs through May 11, 2014 on the Lohrey Stage at Theatre Memphis. The lead character, Elwood P. Dowd, is inseparable from his best friend and confidant, Harvey, an over six-foot magical white rabbit. Only Elwood can see Harvey so is it any wonder Elwood's family decides a peaceful sanatorium might be suitable for him - and Harvey?
