As previously announced, David Suchet will star as 'Lady Bracknell' in Oscar Wilde's much loved and exhilarating masterpiece THE IMPORTANCE OF BEING EARNEST. Directed by Adrian Noble, the new production will open in the West End on July 1, 2015, with previews from June 24. Suchet recently told the Daily Mail that Goeffrey Rush and Brian Bedford's portrayals of the iconic character led him to take the role, but that he wants to play the lady 'straight.' (more...)

Instead of the expensive dinner and a movie scenario, families flock to the park for a more neighborly picnic and a play. A co-production with South Coast Repertory and Berkeley Repertory Theatre, Tartuffe is directed and designed by Dominique Serrand, the co-founder and co-Artistic Director of The Moving Company, a company dedicated to creating new work and reimagining work from the past. Howard Davies will direct Steve Waters' new play TEMPLE, a fictionalised account of the events that took place during the 2011 Occupy demonstration outside St Paul's Cathedral. Simon Russell Beale will return to the Donmar stage to play the Dean having previously starred in The Philanthropist, Twelfth Night and Uncle Vanya (for which he won the 2003 Olivier Award for Best Actor). Classic Stage Company, under the leadership of Artistic Director Brian Kulick and Managing Director Jeff Griffin, has announced that its upcoming production of DOCTOR FAUSTUS, adapted by David Bridel and Andrei Belgrader from the play by Christopher Marlowe, starring Chris Noth ("Law & Order," "Sex and the City," "The Good Wife"), directed by Andrei Belgrader (CSC's production of The Cherry Orchard) will extend through Sunday, July 12.  Previews will now begin Tuesday, June 2 with an official opening Thursday, June 18 at CSC (136 East 13th Street).   Joining Noth in the cast are Tony Award nominee and "The Good Wife" co-star Zach Grenier as Mephistopheles, Jeffrey Binder, Ken Cheeseman, Carmen M. Gaiety ruled at the 33rd Annual Elliot Norton Awards ceremony as Ryan Landry, impresario of the Gold Dust Orphans, received the Elliot Norton Prize for Sustained Excellence, and comedian-actress-jazz musician Lea DeLaria was the Guest of Honor. York Symphony Orchestra announces their 2015-2016 Season, In Nature's Realm, a series of ten performances, which will include: a classical series, inspired by nature's beauty and power; two Pops performances, featuring music audiences will know and love; two family-focused presentations; and the first fully-staged opera in the history of York. Music Director and Conductor Lawrence Golan returns on the heels of a noteworthy inaugural season to lead the Orchestra in presenting a symphonic force of nature. Season subscriptions are on sale beginning Monday, May 11 at 10:00 a.m., and single tickets will be available beginning Saturday, August 1 at 10:00 a.m. (more...)

Adam Karim (Sajit Khan), Assad Zaman (Saleem Khan), Dharmesh Patel (Abdul Khan), Salma Hoque (Meenah Khan) and Simon Nagra (George Khan) join the previously announced comedy award-winning actress Pauline McLynn (Ella Khan) and original West End cast members, Ashley Kumar (Tariq Khan) and Darren Kuppan (Maneer Khan) to complete the casting of the Khan family in the national tour of Ayub Khan Din's critically-acclaimed play East is East.
