Journey into Narnia this summer with a superb new production of The Lion, The Witch And The Wardrobe in London's Kensington Gardens. Following up on last summer's popular production of Peter Pan, producers threesixty return to Kensington Gardens to create another enchanting theatrical experience, based on C.S. Lewis' first book in The Chronicles of Narnia series.



Staged in a enchanting state-of-the-art big-top tent in London's Hyde Park, the play brings the fantastical winter world of Narnia to life using elements from live theatre, spectacular video and puppetry special effects. C.S Lewis' classic story has been adapted for the stage by Rupert Goold, and the show is co-directed by Goold and Michael Fentiman.



So open the door, and enter a spectacular new world with Peter, Susan, Edmund and Lucy as they journey through the magical land of Narnia...

Oxford Playhouse to Present World Premiere of PETER PAN IN SCARLET, July 25

This summer marks the return of the Oxford Playhouse to middle scale producing with the world premiere of the stage adaptation of Peter Pan in Scarlet, the best-selling official sequel to JM Barrie's Peter Pan, written by Carnegie Medal and three times Whitbread Children's Book Award winner Geraldine McCaughrean.  The book was originally commissioned by Great Ormond Street Hospital Children's Charity  to whom Barrie gifted all rights to the character and original writings in 1929.  The novel will be brought thrillingly to life by director and adapter Theresa Heskins, Artistic Director of the New Vic Theatre, and an award-winning team including Aerial Director, Vicki Amedume, Artistic Director of circus theatre company Upswing, composer and Musical Director, James Atherton and designer Liz Cooke.  (more...)

? Written by Francis Hodgson Burnett and first published in 1910, The Secret Garden takes us on a journey through a different time and place. Set in India and England at the turn of the century, Artistic Director Diane Crews reveals, "This show is about people, my most favorite theme, and their ability to change and help others to change as well." In The Secret Garden, we meet two children who are almost impossible to like.  A product of their upbringing, they were spoiled but not loved.  They were taught they were better than everyone else. "Growing up with everything and nothing at the same time," explains Crews. "Can you imagine never having a friend?  By the end of the story, we end up not only rooting for them, but also liking them." (more...)

Alexander Zeldin's BEYOND CARING to Launch National Tour

Following acclaimed runs at The Yard and National Theatre, Beyond Caring tours this June and July to a series of unusual and original performance spaces. Devised and directed by Alexander Zeldin, the production plays in a found space within Birmingham REP, Theatre Delicatessen Sheffield, HOME Manchester and a single performance at Theatre de la Ville in Luxembourg. James Doherty joins the cast with Luke Clarke, Janet Etuk, Kristin Hutchinson and Victoria Moseley all reprising their roles. The Royal Lyceum Theatre, Edinburgh is delighted to announce full casting for its epic production of the classical Greek poem, The Iliad, directed by its Artistic Director, Mark Thomson. Olivier Award nominee Melody Grove, currently nominated for 'Best Actress in a Supporting Role' for her critically acclaimed performance alongside Mark Rylance in Farinelli and the King in London's West End last winter, will perform in this lavish and visceral production that explores the basic human emotions of love, jealousy and revenge against the backdrop of the Trojan War. This will be Thomson's final production, as Artistic Director, after 13 years at Scotland's largest producing theatre. The Iliad will run from 20 April to 14 May. (more...)
