Chance Theater Announces 2017 Season

Ilana Becker to Join Company of Fools in New Associate Artistic Director Position

Company of Fools (COF) is pleased to announce that Ilana Becker has been appointed to the new position of Associate Artistic Director. After conducting a national search that yielded more than 80 qualified applicants, Company of Fools' and Sun Valley Center for the Arts' leadership determined that Becker's expertise and passion for theatre made her the ideal candidate for the position. In her new role, Becker will assist newly promoted COF Artistic Director John Glenn and contribute to The Center's education initiatives and BIG IDEA programs. Glenn, who was recently honored with the 2016 Idaho Governor's Award for Excellence in the Arts, assumed leadership of Company of Fools following the recent departure of his co-artistic director, Denise Simone. The Rockettes Saga Continues: MSG Fires Back at Marie Claire for Article on Private Meeting

Unless you've been living under a rock, you know that the The Rockettes are performing for President-elect Donald Trump's inauguration on January 20th. Madison Square Garden executive chairman James Dolan called an impromptu meeting with the Rockettes on December 27th to discuss - in a 'safe setting' - the controversy surrounding MSG's decision to have the dancers perform at the event. Marie Claire published Dolan's and several Rockettes' statements from the meeting in a new piece this morning. Now, Madison Square Garden Company has released a statement regarding Marie Claire's coverage of the private meeting. (more...)

Walnut Street Theatre's 2016-2017 Independence Studio on 3 season continues with one of Neil Simon's funniest plays, Last of the Red Hot Lovers. Philadelphia audiences will be the first to see this production before it becomes the seventh national tour of a Walnut Street Theatre production. Directed by Adam Immerwahr, Last of the Red Hot Lovers begins previews in Philadelphia on January 10th, opens January 12th and continues through February 5th. Some of the best stories begin in the "Green Room" at the 77WABC studios where "The Late" Joey Reynolds broadcasts very live. Last night's guests included Academy Award Nominated Actor and Cabaret performer Danny Aiello, Super Singer Julie Budd, and comic Steven Scott. KT Sullivan was also scheduled, but was having so much fun at that Green Room party that she didn't make it into the studio on time. Danny Aiello talked about his Annual Christmas Party which takes place at The Triad on December 19th and Julie Budd, who appeared with "The Chairman" many times appropriately brought her new album for his birthday -  Mr. Sinatra.
