ONE NIGHT STAND is a unique opportunity to go backstage with Rachel Dratch, Jesse Tyler Ferguson, Richard Kind, Cheyenne Jackson, and other top Broadway and Hollywood writers, actors, and directors who produce four original short musicals, all within 24 hours. Think A Chorus Line meets Project Runway - a window into the creative process with a compressed time frame: the spark, the camaraderie, the sheer panic and the ultimate thrill of expression.

Filmmakers Elisabeth Sperling and Trish Dalton accumulated sixty-five hours of footage over the twenty-four hour period. The final product, edited down to 74 minutes, gives you an up-close, personal glimpse of some of America's favorite actors as they step out of their comfort zones - from Cheyenne Jackson's "fear, sweat, adrenaline and Red Bull" to Rachel Dratch's mounting dread at the prospect of singing alongside Broadways' finest voices. Richard Kind sums it up, "It's like a rollercoaster. You want to throw up, but it's fun!" ONE NIGHT STAND is a record of an insane theatrical challenge and keeps you on The Edge of your seat and laughing.

ONE NIGHT STAND is organized by The 24 Hour Company as a fundraiser for The Exchange, which supports innovative American and British Theater artists.

BWW Preview: THE ORIGINALS, The Ruin of Many a Poor BoyBWW Preview: THE ORIGINALS, The Ruin of Many a Poor Boy
by Jennifer McHugh - Sep 29, 2014

I first watched the backdoor pilot during Season Five of THE VAMPIRE DIARIES. I wasn't too excited even though I do adore Klaus' lips and I'd move mountains if Elijah asked me to. (Swoon) However, at the urging of friends, I binge watched The Originals this summer and as it turns out? It's pretty fantastic. I don't know why I doubted it to begin with, the Mikaelson Family has never disappointed in entertainment. I mean it's pretty much the same basic story as TVD, two brothers, one pretty good, one pretty bad, both invested in the same woman yada yada yada, but here, there are a lot more witches, a lot more wolves and a lot more intrigue. This isn't Mystic Falls; this is New Orleans. (more...)

BWW Reviews: Amy Herzog's Sweet 4,000 MILES Resonates at Sierra MadreBWW Reviews: Amy Herzog's Sweet 4,000 MILES Resonates at Sierra Madre
by Don Grigware - Sep 29, 2014

Amy Herzog's Pulitzer-Prize nominated 4,000 Miles explores a most difficult relationship between a grandmother of 90 and her grandson some seventy years her junior. That gap in age is very wide like the distance of 4,000 miles from Seattle, Washington to New York City which Leo (Christian Prentice) covers by bicycle. Long journeys of any type involve struggles as well as rewards, and the play is a sweet optimistic look at how two very different people can change each other for the better. Now in its LA premiere 4,000 Miles is onstage at the Sierra Madre Playhouse in an endearing and richly detailed production directed lovingly by Christian Lebano and featuring a dynamite cast of four actors. What constitutes being a 'good' father or parent-before or after a child's conception and birth? These unexpected questions deceptively have their answers woven through Milwaukee Chamber Theatre's Midwest second selection of their 40th anniversary season of THE GOOD FATHER opening at the Broadway Theatre Center this fall. On the other hand, it's been so long since the season 2 finale that we're a bit hazy on everything that went down.
