BWW Review: Jungle Theater's Production of the New Play ANNAPURNA is Gorgeous, Funny, Heart-Breaking, and Starkly Poetic
by Jill Schafer - Sep 9, 2015

Annapurna is the tenth highest mountain in the world, named after the Hindu Goddess of nourishment. In the new play by Sharr White, Ulysses writes an epic poem about his ex-wife Emma in which he uses climbing Annapurna as an analogy for their long, complicated, fractured relationship. The revelation of the poem comes at the end of 90 minutes of taut, natural, funny, heart-breaking, real, beautiful dialogue between these two layered and well-defined characters. And you couldn't ask for two better actors than Angela Timberman and Terry Hempleman to play Emma and Ulysses. Everything about the Jungle's production of ANNAPURNA, from the set to the acting to the music to the direction to the costumes (or lack thereof), is gorgeous in a starkly realistic yet poetic kind of way. BWW Recap: MADAM SECRETARY's 'Mysterious' Third Child Arrives
by Scott Fullerton - Sep 29, 2014

Welcome back Stranger Friends, and I hope you enjoyed week two of MADAM SECRETARY as much as I did. I think this episode really emphasized the balance the writers are achieving in mixing the politics, and the family life. While the episode and the title, 'Another Benghazi,' may be pulling from the current headlines a bit soon in my opinion, I think going at it from the private security angle was a winner. Myself, and quite a few others that saw the pilot, were questioning the mention of a third child at the Secretary's dinner last week with the King of Swaziland and his many wives. We only met two children that first episode, and I am glad our questions were answered. (more...)

by Dylan Siegman - Nov 2, 2014

With Halloween being two nights ago, I was under the impression that, just like most other shows, RESURRECTION would have a holiday-centric episode. Clearly I was wrong. by Shari Barrett - May 3, 2015

Proving that money makes their world go around, financial advisors bicker about the falling stock market and how to best keep making money as their clients are losing their portfolios. With each desiring to be at the top of his game, none is safe from the backstabbing devised to make sure only the cream of the crop rises to the top no matter the cost to anyone else. "It's not how smart you are, it's how smart the world thinks you are" seems to be motto of these cutthroat sharks. (more...)
