BWW Reviews: Playing Marital and Mortal Odds: 13 DEAD HUSBANDS at CohesionBWW Reviews: Playing Marital and Mortal Odds: 13 DEAD HUSBANDS at Cohesion
by Jack L. B. Gohn - Mar 14, 2015

If charming and silly are your thing, you'll have fun at Thirteen Dead Husbands by Tom Horan. Set in 'a Paris of the Imagination,' it centers around Dee-Dee (Cassandra Dutt) the 'most beautiful girl in the world,' whose stunning looks come with a serious drawback. The drawback: You marry her, you die promptly of some kind of unpredictable catastrophe. When the action starts, she has already been widowed twelve times, and has a trunk-full of wedding dresses to prove it. The question then becomes what kind of man would now seek Dee-Dee's hand, and what are his chances (of matrimony, and if so, of survival) if he does? (more...)

BWW Recap: Technology (and Claire's Paranoia) Take Center Stage on MODERN FAMILYBWW Recap: Technology (and Claire's Paranoia) Take Center Stage on MODERN FAMILY
by Matt Smith - Feb 26, 2015

It's an exciting episode of MODERN FAMILY this week — and this one takes the “modern” to a whole new level. Yes, as the much-hyped promos throughout the week have shown us, this episode was shot exclusively using the iPhone (and the occasional MacBookPro in some shots). It created an interesting dynamic. My recap, as always, is below: The episode opens up in the middle of an argument between Haley and Claire, and Claire's trying to patch things up via iChat before she boards a flight, and she's trying to piece together where Haley might be. BWW Recap: Oscar and Felix are back in THE ODD COUPLE Pilot!BWW Recap: Oscar and Felix are back in THE ODD COUPLE Pilot!
by Dylan Siegman - Feb 19, 2015

You know how the story goes: Boy gets married, other boy gets married, both marriages fall apart, both boys move in together, one boy is sloppy while the other boy is neat, hilarious hijinks ensue. Chances are that you've seen/heard about one of the incarnations of THE ODD COUPLE, whether it was the movie starring Walter Matthau (CHARADE, GRUMPY OLD MEN) and Jack Lemmon (SOME LIKE IT HOT, GRUMPY OLD MEN), the tv series back in the 70's starring Jack Klugman (QUINCY M.E., 12 ANGRY MEN) and Tony Randall (PILLOW TALK, DOWN WITH LOVE), or the original play by Neil Simon on which all the subsequent versions were all based. Regardless, Felix Unger and Oscar Madison are back, this time played by Thomas Lennon (NIGHT AT THE MUSEUM, MEMENTO) and Matthew Perry (FRIENDS, 17 AGAIN). I find both of these actors extremely funny, so it will be interesting to see how this all pans out. Considering Perry's recent string of cancellations, he could really use a winner. (more...)
