Diane Warren To Be Honored By Point Foundation

Point Foundation (Point) will present its Leadership Award to songwriter Diane Warren, whose work has been recognized with Grammy and Golden Globe awards and multiple Academy Award nominations. The Point Leadership Award is given to an individual who has achieved prominence in their professional career and unequivocally supported the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer (LGBTQ) community. Warren has repeatedly spoken out against bigotry of all kinds, including discrimination directed at the LGBTQ community. The 'It Gets Better' musical theater project that is touring the U.S. in support of LGBTQ youth includes songs of Warren's alongside those of Gnarls Barkley, Kelly Clarkson and Alanis Morissette. Paper Mill Playhouse to Host Auditions for Broadway Show Choir in August

Paper Mill Playhouse has announced open auditions for the award-winning Paper Mill Playhouse Broadway Show Choir. The Paper Mill Playhouse Broadway Show Choir is a tuition-free, audition based, performance show choir that stems from Paper Mill Playhouse's award-winning Arts Education and Outreach programs. The choir consists of 40 to 50 singer/dancers between the ages of 16 and 22. Auditions for this special ensemble will take place at Paper Mill Playhouse, 22 Brookside Drive in Millburn, NJ on the evenings of Sunday, August 24th; Monday, August 25th and Wednesday, August 27th by appointment only. Known for creating “voluptuous movement phrases with touches of dance-theater” (The New York Times) Abraham and his company, Abraham.In.Motion, will present four works-one evening-length, two ensemble works and one trio-over two programs titled The Watershed and When the Wolves Came In at New York Live Arts from September 23 through 27 and September 30 through October 4, 2014.
