Berkshire Theatre Group has announced the reprise of its annual community production of Charles Dickens' A Christmas Carol, adapted by Eric Hill and co-directed by Eric Hill and Travis G. Daly and presented for the fourth time at The Colonial Theatre in Pittsfield. Classic Stage Company, under the leadership of Artistic Director Brian Kulick and Managing Director Jeff Griffin, has announced that its upcoming production of DOCTOR FAUSTUS, adapted by David Bridel and Andrei Belgrader from the play by Christopher Marlowe, starring Chris Noth ("Law & Order," "Sex and the City," "The Good Wife"), directed by Andrei Belgrader (CSC's production of The Cherry Orchard) will extend through Sunday, July 12.  Previews will now begin Tuesday, June 2 with an official opening Thursday, June 18 at CSC (136 East 13th Street).   Joining Noth in the cast are Tony Award nominee and "The Good Wife" co-star Zach Grenier as Mephistopheles, Jeffrey Binder, Ken Cheeseman, Carmen M. The Public Theater announced today that Richard Nelson's award-winning THE APPLE FAMILY PLAYS: SCENES FROM LIFE IN THE COUNTRY will tour Europe for five weeks beginning April 23 at The Find Festival in Berlin. The other tour venues include The May International Festival in Weisbaden, Germany; The Brighton Festival in the United Kingdom; and the Vienna Festival in Austria where the tour will conclude on May 23. The tour is being produced by David Eden, Executive Producer for David Eden Productions, and co-produced and general managed by Tim Smith for Pemberley Productions. (more...)

Baltimore, Md. (April 6, 2015) — Music Director Marin Alsop leads her final Off the Cuff concert of the 2014-2015 season in collaboration with playwright in residence and director Didi Balle for a symphonic play exploring the life of Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky as he wrote his Fifth Symphony. The semi-staged production, taking place on Friday, April 10, at 8:15 p.m. at The Music Center at Strathmore and Saturday, April 11, at 7 p.m. at the Joseph Meyerhoff Symphony Hall, will take audiences into the mind of Tchaikovsky as he expresses his thoughts and feelings on fate, death, sexuality, money, madness and love. As Paper Mill Playhouse's production of the new musical THE HUNCHBACK OF NOTRE DAME came to the end of its run last evening, Patrick Page, who portrayed the evil 'Frollo' in the production, shared news on Facebook that the show will not be making a transfer to Broadway. (more...)

Classic Stage Company, under the leadership of Artistic Director Brian Kulick and Managing Director Jeff Griffin, have announced complete for their upcoming production of DOCTOR FAUSTUS, adapted by David Bridel and Andrei Belgrader from the play by Christopher Marlowe, starring Chris Noth ('Law & Order,' 'Sex and the City,' 'The Good Wife'), directed by Andrei Belgrader (CSC's production of The Cherry Orchard). Joining Noth in the cast are Tony Award nominee and 'The Good Wife' co-star Zach Grenier as Mephistopheles, Jeff Binder, Ken Cheeseman, Carmen M. Herlihy, Walker Jones, Geoffrey Owens and Lucas Caleb Rooney. Previews begin Friday, May 29 for a limited engagement through Thursday, July 2 at CSC (136 East 13th Street).
