The countdown to Christmas begins and ends with an all-out love blitz this year in For the Record's latest world premiere, LOVE ACTUALLY LIVE, a hybrid entertainment that blends scenes from Richard Curtis' 2003 film Love Actually with live performances of the movie's soundtrack. To commemorate the 75th anniversary of the Battle of Kursk, World of Tanks has partnered with HISTORY to recreate portions of one of the greatest tank battles in history using augmented reality. Richard Cutland, Wargaming's Head of Military Relations, will narrate the “The Tanks of Kursk” in a series of videos where viewers can watch German and Soviet tanks refight the battle in tabletop volumetric augmented reality, using the World of Tanks game engine. World of Tanks is a free-to-play online game, and a virtual museum in which players can explore exacting recreations of all of the tanks of WW2. 

Blitz Films and Straight Up Films announce that Stephen Dorff (“True Detective,” BLADE) has been signed to star in director Nick Sarkisov's English-language debut EMBATTLED. Written by David McKenna (AMERICAN HISTORY X, GET CARTER, BLOW), the film also includes McKenna's son, Colin, who was born with Williams Syndrome and inspired a supporting role for the film. Sarkisov is set to produce for Blitz Films, alongside Kate Cohen for Straight Up Films, and Scott LaStaiti, with Blitz co-founder Sergey Sarkisov and Dorff serving as executive producers. Eryl Cochran from Blitz Films will oversee production. The film is scheduled to shoot in Alabama this September.

On May 6, Mixed Blood Theatre will host the world premiere of playwright Beck Lee's Subprime, a new dark comedy with Minneapolis roots that was workshopped in New York.
