There was a seismic event and emotional roller coaster onstage Thursday night at the 92nd Street Y, in the Kaufmann COncert Hall theatre. Her name is DEBBIE ..... DEBORAH VOIT. It was the first performance in New York City of a piece called VOIGT LESSONS. The piece was co-created by Voight, Terrence McNally and Francesca Zambello, years ago, at Glimmerglass and the diva told us that it has been performed 'very few times, let alone in New York City.' The crowd proceeded to go crazy. The piece- so simple, yet brilliantly calibrated. (more...)

On February 27, 2015, the Premier Arts located in Elkhart, Indiana opened the musical, "Harriet The Musical" for the world to see for the very first time. This new musical, with an all-local creative team, impressed the audience with its original score, and original book. This musical presented a Historical Fiction take of the life of Harriet Tubman, a true American Hero who lived during the 1800's in the time of slavery. Premier Arts took on this giant task of writing an original musical, and succeeded in bringing it to life on stage this weekend in Elkhart. (more...)

The Ford's Theatre Society 2014-2015 season continues with the musical Freedom's Song: Abraham Lincoln and the Civil War, directed by Jeff Calhoun, March 13 through May 20, 2015, at the historic Ford's Theatre (511 Tenth Street NW, Washington, D.C.). A new adaptation of the Broadway musical The Civil War, Freedom's Song features the words of Abraham Lincoln and music inspired by the letters of those who lived through the Civil War.
