The Brotherhood/Sister Sol (Bro/Sis) -- Harlem's nationally acclaimed social justice, youth development, and education organization -- will honor legendary dance choreographer Bill T. At San Francisco Opera Guild's Annual Meeting on Tuesday, November 13, at the Westin St. Francis San Francisco on Union Square, Mary Poland was elected president of the organization for a two-year term. Poland succeeds Jane Mudge, whose tenure as president (2016-2018) was celebrated with a proclamation signed by San Francisco Mayor London Breed declaring November 13 "Jane S. Mudge Day." Casting is now complete for the Hollywood Bowl's upcoming production of Annie. The new cast members are Roger Bart as Daniel 'Rooster' Hannigan, Kaylin Hedges as Annie, Ali Stroker as 'Star-to-Be,' Amir Talai as Bert Healy, Marlow Barkley as Kate, Amadi Chapata as Pepper, Noe Lynds as July, Rae Martinez as Tessie, Malea Emma Tjandrawidjaja as Molly, and Olivia Zenetzis as Duffy.

The Juilliard School today announced that alumnus Wynton Marsalis, trumpeter, director of Juilliard Jazz Studies, and artistic director of Jazz at Lincoln Center, will address the graduates at the school's 113th commencement ceremony, which takes place Friday, May 18, 2018, at 11am in Alice Tully Hall, Lincoln Center. Mr. Marsalis received an honorary doctor of music degree from Juilliard in 2006. This will be the final commencement for Juilliard President Joseph W. Polisi, who has had a long association with Mr. Marsalis and asked that he be the commencement speaker. In July, Damian Woetzel will begin as the school's seventh president.
