Three New York City-Based Musical Groups to Perform in Zankel Hall as Part of the Musical Explorers Family Concert

On Saturday, January 18, 2020 at 12:00 p.m. and 3:00 p.m., three vibrant New York City-based musical groups will perform in Zankel Hall as part of the Musical Explorers Family Concert, an interactive experience celebrating music from around the world. The performance features cumbia with Gregorio Uribe, Armenian folk with Zulal, and hip-hop with Soul Science Lab. Free pre-concert activities are offered one hour prior to each performance, preparing parents and children to sing and dance along with the artists.

The MET Orchestra returns to Stern Auditorium / Perelman Stage for a series of three concerts this May and June. For the first concert on Saturday, May 18 at 8:00 p.m., Valery Gergiev leads the orchestra in Schumann's Piano Concerto featuring pianist Daniil Trifonov and Schubert's Symphony No. 9, Great. On Monday, June 3 at 8:00 p.m. new Music Director Yannick N zet-S guin leads The MET Orchestra for the first time at Carnegie Hall in a program of French works with mezzo-soprano Isabel Leonard singing Dutilleux's Le temps l'horloge and Ravel's Sh h razade, alongside Debussy's La mer and Ravel's Daphnis et Chlo Suite No. 2. Gianandrea Noseda-Music Director of the National Symphony Orchestra (NSO), Principal Guest Conductor of the London Symphony Orchestra and newly-appointed General Music Director of the Zurich Opera starting in 2021-returns to the Metropolitan Opera for the first time since 2017 to conduct a new production of Cilea's Adriana Lecouvreur starring Anna Netrebko in her house role debut, December 31, 2018 through January 26, 2019. The 2018-2019 season marks Noseda's second as Music Director of the NSO, including a full schedule of subscription concerts that recently included critically-acclaimed performances of Britten's War Requiem in November and Mahler's Symphony No. 1 earlier this month. On May 19, 2019, Noseda will bring the NSO to Carnegie Hall in a program that includes Rossini's rarely-performed Stabat Mater.

Raab) announced a two-week extension today for the critically acclaimed New York premiere of Anton Chekhov's UNCLE VANYA, directed by Richard Nelson, at the Frederick Loewe Theater (E. 68th Street between Lexington and Park Ave). Translated by Richard Nelson, Richard Pevear, and Larissa Volokhonsky, and directed by Nelson, UNCLE VANYA began performances on Friday, September 7 and was originally scheduled to run through October 14.
