Boys & Girls Clubs of Philadelphia (BGCP) announced today the kickoff of 'A Bold Change for Kids,' a $40 million capital campaign that will greatly benefit thousands of youth who attend Clubs throughout Philadelphia. About half of the funds raised will be used to build a new, state-of-the-art Boys & Girls Club in Philadelphia's Germantown neighborhood, as well as a new ice hockey rink which will be operated by the Ed Snider Youth Hockey Foundation. The remaining funds will be used to renovate six additional Clubs in the Philadelphia area. The Roberts family and the Ed Snider Youth Hockey Foundation are jumpstarting the campaign with an $8 million donation, and David L. Cohen, Senior Executive Vice President of Comcast Corporation, will serve as the campaign chair. (more...)

This year's gala was hosted by Tony Award winner Jane Krakowski ('The Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt,' Nine) and featured special guest and Tony Award nominee for Airline Highway K. Todd Freeman, and performances by many of the most acclaimed musicals on Broadway including: Beautiful, Finding Neverland, Gigi, It Shoulda Been You, On The Town, Something Rotten!, and The Visit. The Dallas Theater Center Board of Trustees announced today the appointment of Jeffrey Woodward as managing director of the 56-year-old organization. Woodward's experience includes Syracuse Stage and 17 years at McCarter Theatre Center. The appointment follows the departure of Heather M. Kitchen, who announced her retirement in September 2014. Woodward will formally assume his post in mid-July. (more...)

IRT and Ricochet Collective announce the addition of Jody Flader (The Slug Bearers… at The Vineyard), to the cast of the World Premiere of GORDY CRASHES, by Sam Byron. Directed by Sherri Eden Barber, previews begin June 5 at IRT Theater with opening night slated for Friday, June 12. Flader replaces Clea Alsip, who leaves to join the cast of Neil Labute's The Way We Get By with Amanda Seyfried and Thomas Sadoski. (more...)
