Broward County's Cultural Community shone bright in May, when friends, community activists, artists, dignitaries; and historians gathered to celebrate the opening of L.A. Lee YMCA/Mizell Community Center. This former site of Provident Hospital, the first Black Hospital in Broward County, established courageously in 1938 during segregation, is today located along Fort Lauderdale's cultural, historically-significant Sistrunk Boulevard.

The Coney Island History Project's exhibition center opens for the 2022 season on Saturday, May 28th, of Memorial Day Weekend. Since the History Project's inception in 2004 with a portable recording booth on the Boardwalk and the inaugural season of our exhibition center in 2007, we have proudly offered 'Free Admission for One and All!” The exhibition center is open free of charge on Saturdays, Sundays and holidays (1:00PM-7:00PM) from Memorial Day Weekend through Labor Day. We're located at 3059 West 12th Street, adjacent to the West 12th Street entrance to Deno's Wonder Wheel Park, just a few steps off the Boardwalk.

The world premiere Pillow-exclusive engagement, America(na) to Me, will kick off Jacob’s Pillow Dance Festival 2022 in the opening week of the Festival – as the first week-long performance in the newly renovated Ted Shawn Theatre – from June 22-26.

A Theater In The Dark's Live Virtual Audio Drama A WAR OF THE WORLDS To Return For Three Halloween Weekend Performances, October 29-31

Single tickets for the shows in Asolo Repertory Theatre's 2021-2022 season will go on sale to the public on Monday, Sept. 27, at 10 a.m.

Last night, MPTF (Motion Picture & Television Fund) hosted the 19th annual “Night Before” party, reimagined as a special virtual edition.  Hosted by Wayne Brady, the evening raised nearly $2 million, which will be used to support those in the industry who benefit from MPTF’s charitable programs and services, especially during this unprecedented time. 

Whether you are a mother, have a mother or any combination thereof, instead of waiting to get into an overpriced restaurant with limited seating, why not treat yourself to this innovative, tuneful concert on Mother's Day? You can bring a picnic basket filled with your favorites, take in the sunset and hear great music from composers we don't hear enough of.

Full casting has been announced for Theatre in the Dark's original audio drama adaptation of H.G. Wells' THE WAR OF THE WORLDS. Corey Bradberry, who co-authored this new adaptation of the H.G. Wells novel with company co-founder Mack Gordon, is directing.
