?Broadway veteran and Tony Award nominee, Adam Pascal (RENT, Aida, Memphis, Disaster) will hold an exclusive masterclass in Montreal for local performers on August 10, 2016. During the workshop, participants will work on musical theatre and pop selections. Enrollment in the Master Class is extremely limited and open to participants who will each have one-on-one time with Pascal, as well as auditors who can observe and learn from the audience. BWW Dance Review: NIMBUS DANCE WORKS Sets Hearts Ablaze in Geolocate

The guerdon in attending a repertory company's concert is being able to savor the variety of work on display. Such was the case for Nimbus Dance Works' recent concert at Gibney Dance Center's Agnes Varis Performing Arts Center. Founded by Artistic Director Samuel Pott - a former soloist with The Martha Graham Dance Company and leading dancer with American Repertory Ballet - Nimbus places special emphasis on presenting work that engages communities across all spectrums. In celebration of its eleventh season, the company presented 'Geolocate' - a collection of work created by four choreographers from across the globe - in response to hateful rhetoric currently heard with alarming frequency in the news. This concept clearly spoke to a wide of array of people; the concert that I attended - closing night, June 4th, 2016 - contained the most diverse audience I have ever encountered. (more...)

The pair, who won the 2016 Georgia High School Musical Theatre Awards - Shuler Hensley Awards for leading actor and actress, performed on Broadway's Minskoff Theatre stage for a panel of judges made up of Broadway's finest actors, casting agents, and directors. Philadelphia Young Pianists' Academy Returning to Curtis Institute of Music This Summer

Now in its fourth year as an international event, The Philadelphia Young Pianists' Academy (PYPA), returns to the Curtis Institute of Music this summer for eight days in August. Twenty outstanding young pianists ranging from ages 12 to 24 selected from the United States, China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Hungary, Belgium and Columbia will gather at Curtis to study one-on-one with five international concert masters; The PYPA Director Ching-Yun Hu, Charles Abramovic, Zhaoyi Dan, Douglas Humpherys and Alon Goldstein. Five highly talented alternate students will also be invited to attend as observers. The young pianists were invited based on a rigorous selection process that included submitting a written application and an audio recording for review.  (more...)

Never one to rest on his laurels, Florida's favorite son, Burt Reynolds, spent the month of June in Knoxville, Tennessee, filming his latest movie. Dog Years, written and directed by Adam Rifkin, is the story of an aging former movie star who is forced to face the reality that his glory days are behind him. Rifkin wrote the script especially for Reynolds and described the story by saying, "On the surface, Dog Years is a tale of faded fame, but at its core, it's a universal story about growing old." Dog Years, written and directed by Adam Rifkin, is the story of an aging former movie star who is forced to face the reality that his glory days are behind him. Rifkin wrote the script especially for Reynolds and described the story by saying, "On the surface, Dog Years is a tale of faded fame, but at its core, it's a universal story about growing old."
