Ghostlight Records has announced that The Jonathan Larson Project is now available for pre-order and is scheduled for release in physical, digital, and streaming formats on Friday, April 5. Customers who pre-order the digital album will immediately receive a download of the first single, 'Greene Street.' Written by Jonathan Larson, the Pulitzer Prize- and Tony Award-winning composer of Rent, this rock musical set in 1990 New York City tells the story of an aspiring theater composer, as he is forced to reevaluate his passions and decide whether he should keep pursuing his dream or give it all up for a stable career. Performances run November 29 through December 9 at the Pell Chafee Performance Center, 87 Empire St., Downtown Providence. General admission is $15 with a discounted price of $10 for seniors and $7 for students. The album will be based on a concert originally presented at Feinstein's/54 Below, directed and conceived by Jennifer Ashley Tepper, and featuring music supervision, orchestrations and arrangements by Charlie Rosen. The show features the music of the late composer Jonathan Larson, who wrote Rent and tick tick BOOM, the former an iconic Broadway landmark and the latter a beloved musical gem. With the IN THE HEIGHTS film currently in pre-production, Lin-Manuel Miranda is looking to extend his reach into musical films as Deadline is reporting that the multi-talented star will make his feature film directorial debut with the big screen adaptation of Jonathan Larson's TICK, TICK... BOOM!

The story of Jonathan Larson's death before the first scheduled preview of the off-Broadway performance of his 'Rent' has become theater history.

Tick, Tick... BOOM! is a heart breaking and hilarious journey through the dilemmas of real life and the rewards and limitations of dreaming. This autobiographical musical by Jonathan Larsen, the Pulitzer Prize and Tony Award winning composer of Rent, tells his story as he chases his dreams of a successful career in musical theatre. This show is relatable for anyone who has questioned their dream, feared time is passing them by, had a relationship or reached the stage of self-discovery.

While there are some big shows in town this weekend, there is one little show that should not be overlooked.  Dare to Defy's TICK, TICK... BOOM! in the Mathile Theatre at the Schuster Center is as intimate as PHANTOM is spectacle and makes for a beautiful evening of theatre.  

For their 11th annual collaboration, Playhouse Square and Baldwin Wallace University will join to present tick, tick… BOOM! in Playhouse Square's Helen Rosenfeld Lewis Bialosky Lab Theatre. Performances will be held Friday, April 27, through Sunday, April 29.
