Wisconsin Governor Jim Doyle proclaimed January 19, 2010 as "Laura Ingalls Wilder Day" in honor of the Wisconsin-born author of the famed "Little House" books. Later this evening, Little House on the Prairie, The Musical starring Melissa Gilbert will open in Overture Hall inside Overture Center for the Arts. The touring musical will also make a stop at Fox Cities Performing Arts Center in Appleton March 23-28.

The New York Times has confirmed that THE ORPHAN'S HOME CYCLE will aim for a fall 2010 Broadway opening, as opposed to rushing the show in this spring, as we previously speculated. While the show had the opportunity to transfer from its current home Off-Broadway at the Signature Theatre into the Neil Simon Theatre on Broadway for a spring opening, the producers and director Michael Wilson have opted to take the extra time to better prepare the show for the move.

Producers Tom Hulce and Ira Pittelman announced today that following the record-breaking and critically acclaimed engagement at Berkeley Rep, the production will begin previews on Wednesday, March 24, 2010 and open on Broadway Tuesday, April 20, 2010 at the St. James Theatre (246 West 44 Street). The New York Times is reporting that Tony-winner Jerry Zaks has officially been brought in to take over and to supervise THE ADDAMS FAMILY. Zaks will be billed as the show's 'Creative Consultant' with Phelim McDermott and Julian Crouch still listed as directors and production designers, but it's been made clear that Jerry Zaks is the new man in charge.
He tells the Times that he is looking forward to 'taking this original musical to the next level.' As a result of taking this job, Zaks will no longer direct All About Me, which stars Dame Edna and Michael Feinstein.
