Tony Award winner Dinah Manoff leads The Nuts & Bolts of Acting, a two-part workshop for teens and adults, ages 16 and older this September at Bainbridge Performing Arts.

Welcome to the basics! Providing a foundation for actors who want to learn the "nuts and bolts" of the craft, this workshop explores a variety of techniques with practical application to scenes and monologues. In part two of the session Dinah uses creative exercises and improvisation to teach students how to build believable characters. Limited to 16 students, this class is geared to actors of all levels including beginners with little or no experience.

Star of stage, television and screen, Dinah Manoff received a Tony Award in 1980 as Best Featured Actress for her performance in the Broadway production of Neil Simon's I Ought To Be In Pictures. A regular on the TV series Soap, she played "Pink Lady Marty Marachino" in Grease. Manoff has over 30 years of experience acting, directing and casting.

The Nuts & Bolts of Acting runs September 10 and 17, Sundays from 10:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. at BPA, 200 Madison Ave. N., Bainbridge Island. Tuition is $225 per person, and enrollment closes September 1 for class to proceed. Interested parties are urged to email Michelle Allen at nwactorslab@gmail.com to reserve their spot. If they have not done so for a class this year already, students must download and complete the Registration Form at www.bainbridgeperformingarts.org/collections/adult-education/products/the-nuts-bolts-of-acting-fall-2017. Newcomers should note that class will be held in the portable building behind BPA.
