TMP is turning Sweet Sixteen and you are invited to an incredible season of musical productions beginning October 2, 2009! Nowhere else will you find such great shows at such affordable prices.

This sensational season brings five shows to the TMP mainstage including regional premieres, new revivals of old favorites, and plenty of fabulous music! Our season opener is the surprise hit musical and TMP staff favorite that just closed on Broadway in 2008...Curtains. This hilarious show-within-a-show, murder mystery musical is a real knock-out tribute to show business, with music and lyrics by John Kander and Fred Ebb - the composer/lyricist team from Cabaret and Chicago. Next we will present the musical theater classic, Guys and Dolls. The colorful Runyon-esque characters come to life on our stage with wonderful music and fast-paced dancing! Our third show, The Wedding Singer, is a new 1980's flashback musical based on the popular 1998 movie with rockin' music and a touching story. This is then followed by the rarely produced Rodgers and Hammerstein classic... Flower Drum Song. The new revival of this enchanting musical is set in San Francisco and presents the generational conflicts of old traditions versus new trends. For our hot Summer Blockbuster we will present All Shook Up!, a new musical loaded with music made famous by Elvis Presley.

TMP is also presenting a Bonus Show on the mainstage this year. RENT is an important production that represents a new Broadway musical style - telling the poignant story of how mankind began to deal with AIDS. TMP will be one of the first theaters to produce this show in the region. Season Subscribers can add RENT to their 5-show package at the same discounted subscription rate.

Our fourth season of The Tacoma Children's Musical Theater promises to be bigger and better than ever before. Presented by adult performers for family audiences, these fully-staged musicals are based on classic children's literature and offer a great reason to make a "family date" and enjoy a trip to the theater. The TCMT season will open in November with the extraordinarily popular, Junie B. Jones and a Little Monkey Business! In the spring we will present two shows, the endearing classic Anne of Green Gables in May, followed by an extra-special presentation of the musical tale Peter & the Wolf in June. All of these productions will offer mid-week student group matinee performances this season. Book your school groups early because these performances do sell out!

All of these performances will take place at Tacoma Musical Playhouse, 7116 6th Avenue in Tacoma. All seating for TMP mainstage and TCMT productions is reserved, so advance purchase is strongly recommended. Season Subscription Packages are now on sale.

Single show tickets for mainstage and TCMT productions are also now available. Single ticket prices for mainstage productions range from $18-$25, and TCMT tickets range from $10-$15. Group rates are available. For tickets or more information, please visit www.tmp.org or call the TMP Box Office at 253-565-6867.
