Nights at the Neptune, Seattle Theatre Group's free summer series, returns for the 3rd consecutive year! Offered free to the public and to the artists, Nights at the Neptune embraces local artistic expression, with an emphasis on presentations that address issues of race and social justice. "Because many talented local artists do not have access to the resources necessary to share their gifts with a wider community, STG is encouraging a new space for new voices by turning the theatre over to these creative talents," states STG Executive Director Josh LaBelle.
Here's how it all works - local artists/arts organizations respond to a call for artists. Then a panel of local artists, entrepreneurs, activists and advocates who select the final list of participants review applications. With community support from The Norcliffe Foundation & The Nesholm Family Foundation, STG opens The Neptune Theatre to the artists, for free, to mount a performance, that is also free to the public, providing access to all. Come celebrate these artists with us this summer. This is performing arts by the people, for the people. After all, This is A People's Theatre Joint!Nights at the Neptune 2015 line-up: Thursday, June 11th: Black & Blue
