SMT's 2015/2016 season roars to life with the high-voltage rock opera JESUS CHRIST SUPERSTAR, music by Andrew Lloyd Webber and lyrics by Tim Rice. A unique take on the gospels, Superstar recounts the last week of Jesus's life, focusing on his close, but fraught relationship with Judas. The critically acclaimed score features favorites "Heaven on Their Minds," "I Don't Know How to Love Him," "What's the Buzz," "Herod's Song," "Superstar," and many others. SMT's Superstar will boast nontraditional casting. September 11-October 4, 2015

This holiday season audiences will fall in love with the charming romantic comedy SHE LOVES ME, book by Joe Masteroff (Cabaret), music and lyrics by Jerry Bock and Sheldon Harnick (Fiddler on the Roof), and based on a play by Miklos Laszio. Set in a 1930's European perfumery, feuding shop clerks Amalia and Georg both answer a lonely hearts advertisement -- and have no idea who is on the other end. This endearing love story is based on the same source material as the Meg Ryan/Tom Hanks hit film You've Got Mail. December 4-20, 2015

9 TO 5 THE MUSICAL celebrates female empowerment with music and lyrics by the incomparable Dolly Parton and book by Patricia Resnick. In this jubilant, high-energy award-winner, three female co-workers decide they've had enough and hilariously plot to get even with their sexist egotistical boss. Based off the hit film, 9 to 5 is a big-hearted tale of friendship, perseverance, and dreaming big. February 18-March 6, 2016

The season concludes with a trip to the beautiful beaches of Polynesia with the Pulitzer and ten-time Tony Award-winning musical SOUTH PACIFIC, music by Richard Rodgers, lyrics by Oscar Hammerstein II, and book by Hammerstein II and Joshua Logan. Filled with beloved tunes like "I'm Gonna Wash That Man Right Out of My Hair," "Some Enchanted Evening," "Nothing Like a Dame," and "I'm in Love with a Wonderful Guy," South Pacific bravely tackles prejudice and proves that love knows no bounds. April 7-May 1, 2016

SMT will also continue its Summer Youth Program, running July 5-30, 2016.

Seattle Musical Theatre closes out its current season with A FUNNY THING HAPPENED ON THE WAY TO THE FORUM, the Tony Award-winning musical comedy of coliseum proportions. Director Vince Brady will give this classic a vaudeville twist. Music Direction by Joel Kurzynksi. Choreography by Brett Nugent. Now through April 26, 2015 (7:30pm Fri-Sat, 2pm Sun, Plus 7:30pm Thursday, April 23, 2015). Tickets ($20-$35) are available at www.seattlemusicaltheatre.org or by calling 1-800-838-3006
