Seattle Theatre Group (STG) has announcde the appointment of Jack McLarnan as the new Season Programming Manager. After serving as a performing arts curator and producer in Chicago, IL, where he served as Performing Arts Coordinator at the City of Chicago's Department of Cultural Affairs and Special Events, Jack joined the STG team in November. In Chicago Jack curated and produced more than 125 events annually in parks, public spaces, clubs, and concert halls throughout the city, with a focus on Millennium Park and the historic Chicago Cultural Center.

Since 2007, Jack was one of the core curators, producers, and administrators for Millennium Park, Chicago's 24-acre art park featuring the Frank Gehry-designed Jay Pritzker Pavilion. McLarnan produced and curated, as well as assisted with hundreds of concerts in a variety of styles and featuring artists from local to international - including jazz groups, contemporary and traditional dance, children's music, large scale street theater, rock bands, and international music from across globe, all offered at no cost to the audience. Jack also acted as producer and assistant-curator for World Music Festival Chicago, the 17 year-old festivals of global artists. The largest world music festival of its kind in the United States, it features over 60 artists from 35 countries performing 90 concerts in more than 20 venues throughout the city of Chicago in just 11 days, also free to the public. The festival consistently features many US debut performances. He also curated Millennium Park's popular Downtown Sound Mondaynight rock series each summer.

"I am thrilled to be joining the Seattle Theatre Group. Seattle is such an arts rich city and STG plays a key role in maintaining a vital cultural landscape in this growing community, presenting the best performing arts from around the globe. Having the opportunity to work with STG's many partners and having a role in continuing to shape memorable experiences through the arts is a privilege," stated McLarnan.

"Jack's passion, experience and vision are well-suited for continuing the legacy of Seattle Theatre Group, and we are thrilled to welcome him to the Seattle arts community, " says STG's Executive Director, Josh LaBelle.
