Celebrate the vibrant printmaking community that now thrives on Bainbridge Island, and join the BPA Gallery March 3 for an artist reception and a fun evening of art, food, and friends. The First Friday Art Walk - "Inkgarden" - runs 5 to 7 p.m. and continues throughout March at Bainbridge Performing Arts (BPA).

Artist Wendy Orville opened Inkgarden Studio in 2004, offering classes in monotype. When approached about this exhibit, Wendy responded, "I feel so lucky to be part of such a generous, joyful and committed group of artists (and friends). I found an old Inkgarden poster from the very beginning and it said 'Cultivate your creativity within a safe and supportive community. Explore ideas, develop skills, and liberate your imagination.' I started the workshops without a clue if there would be any interest. I remember standing in the recently renovated studio space, holding my son, Gabe (he was about one) and thinking what have I done? Will anyone come? So here we all are. What an adventure!"

The BPA Gallery showcases regional artists in monthly rotating exhibits in the C. Keith Birkenfeld Lobby and regularly participates in the First Friday Art Walk from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m. Gallery hours are 12:00 - 5:00 p.m. Tuesday - Friday plus one hour prior to each performance. Admission is free, and information is available online at www.bainbridgeperformingarts.org, by phone at 206.842.8569 or in person at BPA, 200 Madison Avenue North, Bainbridge Island.

BPA is supported, in part, by Bainbridge Community Foundation and One Call for All.
