Annex Theatre & The Libertinis to Present GONE WILD!, 4/25-5/10
Annex Theatre and burlesque ensemble The Libertinis join forces to bring this sexy late-night nature documentary to the Annex stage. If David Attenborough, Bettie Page, and the Muppets all mated and spawned a stage show, it would a lot like GONE WILD!
Follow the adventures of Quincy Von Poodle, her tap dancing dolphin, and a zoologist named Randall as they travel the world in search of a new sexy shape-shifting species. Their travels take them from jungles and grasslands to regional airports, as their search turns up continued comic craziness from animals that are never quite as they appear. Meanwhile, an insurgent butterfly is preparing for a revolution that may change the world...or at least Rollingsford, New Hampshire!
Blending burlesque, comedy, and a little old-fashioned narrative storytelling, GONE WILD! promises an uproarious late night experience. So buckle up and get wild with The Libertinis and friends.
The Libertinis (Hattie Hellkat, Tootsie Spangles, Miz Melancholy, Woody Shticks) are Seattle's sexiest interdisciplinary arts ensemble. GONE WILD! was written by the Libertinis in collaboration with Max Kirchner. The show also features local burlesque artists and actors Marcus Gorman, Maxie Milieu, Sailor St. Claire, Jacquelyn Miedema, Jordan Melin, Dayo Anderson, and Natalie Copeland.
The 2013 Theatre Puget Sound Gregory Award Winner for Theatre of the Year, Annex Theatre is a democratic collective of theatre artists dedicated to creating bold new work in an environment of improbability, resourcefulness and risk. Annex Theatre produces new plays by living playwrights, radical reinterpretations of classic scripts, and ensemble-generated non-linear spectacles. Now in its Capitol Hill venue, Annex originally opened its doors in 1987 in a former dance studio on 4th Avenue in downtown Seattle. Since then the theater has produced hundreds of world and Northwest premieres.
GONE WILD! A savage romp through the animal kingdom performs April 25-May 10.
