This August the Sweatshop gates re-open ... Come on in, sit down! Welcome! You've got big dreams. You want entertainment. Well, entertainment costs. And right here is where you start paying ... in sweat.

THE late night hit of the 2016 Fringe is back! A production line of cabaret, circus and party tricks, manufactured in difficult and dangerous working conditions, Sweat Shop pushes performers to their limits.

Throughout August, head honcho, task-master and host, the Australian singer, songwriter, showman extraordinaire, the impeccably coiffed cabaret king Mikelangelo sets his team to work in the sweaty, uncompromising environment of George Square Gardens. Here, they set out to produce performances that are second to none. Sweat Shop sets out to violate the senses and wring out every last drop, forcing the audience to dance themselves into submission.

Sweat Shop is campaigning cabaret and the only late-night variety show in Edinburgh in August with a mission to manufacture cabaret before your eyes.

Underpaid, under-appreciated and exploited of their own free will are factory workers Betty Grumble (acclaimed sex clown and Underbelly Adelaide Fringe Award recipient), Lada Redstar (award winning burlesque dancer), Dylan Rodriguez (aerialist extraordinaire), Luke Hubbard (Hand Balancing, Hoop Diving prince ), Tara Bloom (rising star of Australian circus, and Gingzilla (International Glamonster on the Rampage). They will be joined by some of Edinburgh Fringe's top performers to supply acts every night for your viewing pleasure. Why? Because the demand for high quality discount cabaret must be met no matter what the personal costs. Like all artists, they tolerate these insane working conditions in the hope that somebody will propel them from the factory floor to stardom. What happens when the promise of fame starts to fade?

There is no guilt in this Sweat Shop - only guilty pleasures. The high calibre artists create acts full of satire, fun and skill to astound, confuse and amaze. Somehow this production line feels less like work and more like a party. With the workers having this much fun, who is really exploiting whom?

Sweat Shop is presented by Briefs Factory, the people behind the international smash-hit Briefs and the hugely acclaimed Hot Brown Honey (Assembly Roxy 9pm).
