Continuing a successful season of large-scale Broadway musicals, The Ziegfeld Theater is pleased to bring an original Christmas production to the stage.

It's a musical parody like no other! A Fairly Potter Christmas Carol tells a hilarious and heartwarming Christmas story with an exciting original score by Rick Rea. While lovingly poking fun at the characters and universe of Harry Potter, you'll recognize story elements from holiday favorites such as Frozen and How the Grinch Stole Christmas.

When Dumbledore procrastinates getting a new Defense Against the Dark Arts Teacher, he hires his long-time rival, Father Christmas (Santa!), and things at Hogwarts transform dramatically. Harry, who hates Christmas due to his difficult family history, wrestles with these changes and it's up to Ron and Hermione to bring their best friend back to his old self. Meanwhile, Voldemort, depressed with his unhealthy obsession with killing a teenage boy, plots to kidnap Father Christmas, take over Christmas, and then... the world! As the plot unfolds in this comedic spoof, don't be surprised if you also shed a tear or two.

A Fairly Potter Christmas Carol is directed by Morgan Parry, music directed by Rick Rea, and choreographed by Morgan Parry and Rick Rea.

The Ziegfeld Theater finishes its third season in 2015 with an original production, after performing Fiddler on the Roof, LES MISERABLES, West Side Story and Hairspray to near sell-out crowds. Under the executive leadership of Caleb and Morgan Parry and the artistic leadership of Rick Rea, the theater pursues a mission of "Professional Standard, Community Spirit" as it strives to bring quality entertainment to diverse audiences in Northern Utah.

The opening gala and performance is Friday, December 4 at 7:30 p.m. Regular performances are 7:30 p.m. every Monday, Friday and Saturday, with 2:00 p.m. matinees every Saturdays. Additionally, there will be 7:30 p.m. performances Tuesday, December 22, and Wednesday, December 23.
