Conservatory Cabaret

(Please plan on being here the entire time)
Rehearsals Begin: Week of January 5*
Performance: Saturday, February 8
Possible second performance Friday, February 7 to be decided by the group.

*Rehearsal Scheduling based on performer availability
We are envisioning an ensemble based cabaret show on a theme to be determined by the group. Once a theme is picked we will find songs that we want to sing, scenes we want to play, and maybe even write some monologues, all based on the theme.

With director and music director guidance the songs, scenes, and monologues will be whittled down and formed into a cabaret show, this is a great opportunity to try your hand at helping to form a show.

To sign up for an audition, email education@wppac.com.

Tuition: $300
Grades 7-12

RENT School Edition

Book, Music & Lyrics by Jonathan Larson

Auditions: Monday, February 10
Callbacks: Wednesday, February 12
Rehearsals Begin: Week of February 23*
Performance: April 25-27

*Rehearsal Scheduling based on performer availability

Based loosely on Puccini's La Boheme, RENT School Edition follows a year in the life of a group of impoverished young artists and musicians struggling to survive and create in New York's Lower East Side, under the shadow of HIV/AIDS.

This adaptation has been carefully done, working with the Larson estate to retain the dramatic intent of the groundbreaking rock musical, and consists of minimal changes to language and the removal of one song ("Contact") to make it possible for middle and high school students to perform this piece.

Set in the East Village of New York City, RENT School Edition is about falling in love, finding your voice and living for today. Winner of the Tony Award for Best Musical and the Pulitzer Prize for Drama, it has become a pop cultural phenomenon with songs that rock and a story that resonates with audiences of all ages.

To sign up for an audition, please email education@wppac.com

Tuition: $475
