Railroad Playhouse To Launch After-School Program this Spring

This Spring, in addition to performances, the Railroad Playhouse will launch an After-School program focusing on teaching interested students character and scene study. There will also be adult scene study classes and more GLEE Summer Camp!

Saturday, March 17th- 8PM- Locomotion Series- Comedy Night- Andy Pitz & Nick Griffin
Tickets- $20 in advance- $25 at the door
Nick Griffin has appeared on the The Late Show with David Letterman seven times, as well as Conan O'Brien and the The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson. He also had his own half hour special on Comedy Central. Andy Pitz’s unique brand of comedy has landed him appearances on The Late Show with David Letterman and The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson.

Friday, March 23rd- 8PM- Locomotion Series- Mission: Improv-able
Tickets- $15/ $10 Students

Friday, March 30th at 8PM and Saturday, March 31st at 3PM and 8PM- Box Car Plays Mentoring Program Presents SUNY Orange Theater Students in- Fissures (lost and found) by Steve Epp, Cory Hinkle, Dominic Orlando, et al. Directed by David H. Cohen- Tickets- $20- $15 Students

The Railroad Playhouse mentoring program also continues.

Saturday, April 14th- 8PM- Locomotion Series- Comedy Night- Geno Bisconte and David Drake
Tickets- $20 in advance/ $25 at the door.

Friday, April 20th and Saturday, April 21st at 8PM- Locomotion Series- Work O’ The Weavers- Earth Day Event
Tickets- $20 in advance/ $25 at the door (Adults) $12 in advance/ $15 at the door (students and children under 12.)

Sunday, April 22nd- 3PM- Young Engineers Series- In Partnership with Making Books Sing- If You Really Love Polar Bears
Tickets- $8, 45 minutes, ages 6 and up
While traveling on a magical journey into the past, present, and future, Patchy, a little boy who is obsessed with polar bears learns firsthand how much of an impact his wasteful habits have on the planet.

Friday, April 27th- 8PM- Box Car Play Series Presents- Artifacts of Consequence- by RRP Playwright in Residence Ashlin Halfnight- Directed by Kris Thor
Tickets- $10
Artifacts of Consequence will introduce the third RR Playhouse Playwright in Residence. In a crumbling, burnt-out America, an underwater bunker stores the relics of our everyday lives: Barbie, Moby Dick, Twinkies and bond traders are all preserved in a labyrinthine warehouse, shelved in boxes, awaiting the stabilization of the continent above.

Friday May 11th-Saturday May 19th- Fridays and Saturdays at 8PM- Box Car Play Series Presents The First Annual Railroad Playhouse One Act Festival- Featuring Plays by All 3 RRP Playwrights in Residence- Directed by Seth Soloway (RRP Artistic Director) and James Phillips
Tickets- $20 ($15 students).

Friday, May 25th- 7PM Box Car Play Series Presents the 7-7 Playmaking Festival
Tickets- $10
Actors, writers and directors will sign in at The Playhouse at 7PM on May 24th and write and rehearse plays all to premiere at 7PM on May 25th!

Saturday, May 26th- 8PM- Locomotion Series- Comedy Night- An Evening of Drinks, Jokes and Storytelling Tickets- $20 in advance/ $25 at the door.
Three comic greats come together to bring the audience to the greenroom.  They let the audience hear what entertains fellow comedians.

Sunday, May 27th- 3PM- Young Engineers Series- Storyteller David Gonzalez
Tickets- $10
David is the proud recipient of the 2011 International Performing Arts for Youth "Lifetime Achievement Award for Sustained Excellence, the Joseph Campbell Foundation Fellow for 2010, and nominated for a 2006 Drama Desk Award for "Unique Theatrical Experience”.

Saturday, May 27th- 8PM- Locomotion Series- Jack Grace
Tickets $15 in advance ($20 at the door)
Jack Grace is the consummate live performer, lyricist, singer and guitarist,

Saturday, June 9th- 3PM- Young Engineers Series- In Partnership with Making Books Sing
Storyteller’s Candle by Barbara Zinn Krieger
Tickets- $8.00, 45 minutes, ages 4 and up
Pura Belpré was the first Latina librarian in the New York Public Library system. In this production, a bilingual storyteller teaches children about Pura’s legacy, Puerto Rican folklore and the library’s
important role in the community.

Saturday, June 16th- 8PM- Locomotion Series- Comedy Night- Frank Vignola’s God and Science
Tickets- $20 in advance/ $25 at the door.
Frank Vignola’s God and Science is a hilarious and vulnerable take on reconciling history and religion with personal loss.

Tickets may also be purchased in-person at the theatre ½ hour prior to the events.

THE RAILROAD PLAYHOUSE will announce their upcoming season at the donor appreciation party at The Playhouse Saturday, February 18.
