Point Park University's Conservatory Theatre Company opens its 2013-2014 season with Rodgers and Hammerstein's beloved musical Oklahoma! directed by Broadway star Patrick Cassidy.

Oklahoma! opens Friday, Oct. 18, and runs through Sunday, Oct. 27, with a preview on Thursday, Oct. 17, in the Rockwell Theatre at the Pittsburgh Playhouse. Performances will be at 8 p.m., Thursdays through Saturdays, and 2 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays. Tickets range from $18 to $20 and can be purchased by calling the Pittsburgh Playhouse box office at 412.392.8000, or at www.pittsburghplayhouse.com.

Rodgers and Hammerstein's first collaboration, Oklahoma! has enchanted audiences for decades with unforgettable songs, such "Oh, What a Beautiful Mornin'" and "People Will Say We're in Love."

Cassidy directs the Conservatory Theatre Company's production, with music direction by Michael McKelvey and choreography by Zeva Barzell. Scenic design is by Michael Thomas Essad, costumes by Michael Montgomery, lighting by Scott Nelson, sound by StEve Shapiro, and projections by Jessi Sedon-Essad.

Best known for his roles in musical theatre and on television, director Patrick Cassidy has appeared on Broadway in numerous productions, includingThe Pirates of Penzance, Leader of the Pack, Annie Get Your Gun, 42nd Street and Elton John's musical, Aida. He co-starred with his mother, Shirley Jones, in 42nd Street on Broadway, as well as in a production of The Music Man at Music Circus in Sacramento, Calif. He toured nationally with Aida, and won the National Broadway Theatre Award for Best Actor in a Touring Musical for his performance.
