The Brelby Theatre Company located in Historic Downtown Glendale, is unveiling the world premiere of After Hours at Rosie's Pub, a script created by the seven women of the Brelby ensemble. The 2016 Brelby Women's Writer's Circle, comprised of Shelby Maticic, Megan O'Connor, Carolyn McBurney, Jessie Tully, Mia Passarella, Melody Chrispen and April Rideout, spent several months designing a unique world and creating the original storyline that includes numerous songs and dance numbers. This show is the final performance at Brelby's current studio, before they transition to their new home in Catlin Court.

The play takes place at a fictional pub, tended by Rosie the Riveter and frequented by famous women from history. Their individual histories weave together, and allow them to pose questions about today's world. "We put a lot of careful thought into which women would frequent this bar," says Artistic Director, Shelby Maticic. "We made sure that our choices included real women, fictional characters, scientists, athletes, activists, and artists. We wanted a diverse group of women that could touch on the experiences and issues that we all face."

Director, Carolyn McBurney notes that the piece is also about lifting one another up. "That's Rosie's Pub- a place where women gravitate to dialogue about the world and their place in it," she explains. "That "place" includes people of all walks of life, a kaleidoscope of life experiences and a positive, accepting, buoyant atmosphere. We all need a night at Rosie's Pub to have our stories listened to and affirmed without judgment and affirmed for who we are and what we have to contribute."

After Hours at Rosie's Pub features performances from ensemble members Shelby Maticic (Windfall, She Kills Monsters) as Rosie the Riveter and Megan O'Connor (Windfall, Fangirl) as Monica Lewinsky. Returning collaborative artists include Alexandra Utpadel (Little Women, The Tempest) as Jane Austen, Kay Gray (Little Women) as Mary Magdalene, Chelsea Jauregui (Windfall, Sea Fairies) as Frida Kahlo, Jen Gantwerker (The Tempest) as Rosalind Franklin, Colleen Carnahan (She Kills Monsters) as Billie Jean King, Travis Bovard (The Miscast Concerts) as Alfred Kinsey, and Clayton Caufman (The Princess & the Pirate, Little Women) and Mat Vansen (Windfall, Poseidon's Regret) as members of the waitstaff.
