Mr. Dumol, a recipient of the Centennial Honors of the Arts (Drama) from the Cultural Center of the Philippines (CCP), wrote his one-act play "Ang Paglilitis Ni Mang Serapio" in 1969; it had its world premiere at the Ateneo High School also in the same year. The Philippine Educational Theater Association (PETA) staged the play at the Rajah Sulayman Theater in 1970. CCP also presented the same play at its first national drama competition in 1989.

Directed by G. Alvin Joseph Veneracion, "the play is about Serapio, a beggar who carries around a doll and uses it to attract pity, which leads to more alms. Once the authorities are alerted of this, they subject Serapio to a mock trial, which leads to his blinding with ice picks." (Manzano, 2012)

15-year-old Teatro Marikeño is a grantee of the National Commission for Culture and the Arts (NCCA). The company continuously stage plays that promote cultural and social awareness while providing education, entertainment, and information to the youth and to the community.
