Hershey Area Playhouse Theatre Academy will offer a six week session on film and theatre with Laurie Miller-Petersen and Cory Wilkerson beginning March 18.

Young actors will tell stories with video and think through the possibilities film brings to storytelling. Actors in grades 4-6 will learn about the subtle differences in acting for the camera, producing their own short films in the process. As a special treat, the Theatre Academy will be using film to add to the magic of its improv troupe, with students documenting their experiences in the zany world of improv comedy. There will be a break for Easter weekend, allowing staff to render the final videos, then classes will end on April 26 with a short film festival and skills demonstration during regular class time.
