Simpatico is thrilled to enlist the powerhouse, award-winning talents of director Harriet Power and actor Julianna Zinkel in bringing Martyna Majok's IRONBOUND to life. Harriet comes to us fresh off of the success of 1812's Barrymore Award-winning I WILL NOT GO GENTLY by Jen Childs, and has previously directed Simpatico's acclaimed IN A DARK DARK HOUSE by Neil LaBute (four Barrymore nominations, including Best Overall Production). Julianna joins us with a impressive list of regional credits, spanning from her tremendous turn in Theatre Exile's BLACKBIRD to her most recent success in Act II's MAURITIUS. Julianna is also a company member of People's Light and Theatre Company where she has appeared in nearly twenty productions. Artistic Director Allen Radway (Simpatico's IN A DARK DARK HOUSE and LONG DAY'S JOURNEY INTO NIGHT) rounds out the cast with the electric talents of Mitchell Bloom and newcomer Joseph Acquaye. Veteran lighting designer and multiple award-winner Jerold R. Forsyth leads the incredibly talented creative team including Colin McIlvaine, Natalia de la Torre, and Daniel Kontz.

Late at night, in The Shadows of a shuttered Newark factory, Darja's decided she's done waiting - for the bus, for a break, for luck, for love. Her hopes for a brighter future, which propelled her from her native Poland two decades ago, continue to escape her. Assembly-line worker, housecleaner, mother, wife - Darja's done dealing with feelings and the men in her life. It's time to talk money. Award-winning playwright Martyna Majok takes us on a darkly funny 20-year journey through the tangled hopes and heartbreak of the "American Dream."
