Open Stage of Harrisburg, the Capital area's professional regional theatre, announced today there will be an exciting addition to their 2010 schedule, COURT STREET CABARET, an evening of song, on Saturday, March 20 at 8 p. m. Stuart Landon and Dorea Schmidt headline Open Stage's COURT STREET CABARET taking you on a musical journey through the oddities of love and relationships featuring songs by Stephen Sondheim, Irving Berlin, John Mayor, Jason Robert Brown, Stephen Schwartz, and the Beatles. According to Don Alsedek, Open Stage's artistic director, "Landon and Schmidt pair up for an uplifting evening that will guarantee to have you smiling when you leave the theatre." Pre-curtain refreshments will be provided by Breads 'n' Spreads.

Landon, who moved to Harrisburg in 2006 from New York City, most recently appeared in OSH's production of DOUBT and the title role in HEDWIG AND THE ANGRY INCH. Landon holds a BFA from the University of Oklahoma A. Max Weitzenhoffer Department of Musical Theatre. Landon appeared at Allenberry Playhouse in LUCKY STIFF, OKLAHOMA!, THE FULL MONTY and INTO THE WOODS. He has directed productions for Little Theatre of Mechanicsburg, Hershey Area Playhouse, and his own Production Company, TriChamelEon Productions.

Dorea Schmidt hails from Grantham, PA. She recently graduated with a B.A. in Theatre from Messiah College, where she appeared in THE OLD MAID AND THE THIEF, BLITHE SPIRIT, THREE SISTERS, and ROMEO AND JULIET. At Open Stage, Schmidt appeared as Luisa in THE FANTASTICKS and Sister James in DOUBT. Schmidt also appeared in IOLANTHE with the Harrisburg Symphony Orchestra. Last fall, Dorea wrote her first one-woman show entitled AT WATER'S EDGE.

No discounts will be honored for this special performance. The Open Stage lobby opens one hour prior to the 8 p. m. curtain. Open Stage, 223 Walnut St., is located on the street level of the Walnut Street Garage in downtown Harrisburg.
