Michael Krajewski to Conduct Peter Nero and The Philly POPS' BOND AND BEYOND

Encore Series, Inc., presenter of Peter Nero and The Philly POPS®, today announced Michael Krajewski, the principal pops conductor of the Houston Symphony, the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra and the Jacksonville Symphony Orchestra, will be the guest conductor of the Bond and Beyond concert series on April 26, 27, 28, 2013. Maestro Krajewski replaces the late Marvin Hamlisch, who was slated to guest conduct the series.

“Though we continue to mourn the loss of the great composer, conductor and arranger, Marvin Hamlisch, the show must go on,” said Frank Giordano, President and CEO of ESI. “Michael Krajewski is a much sought after and exciting guest conductor, and we are eager to welcome him for two of the 2012/2013 concert series at The Kimmel Center.”

Bond and Beyond will feature soprano Debbie Gravitte with the music of James Bond and other themes of espionage. Maestro Krajewski will also serve as guest conductor for the Lennon and McCartney concert series on March 15, 16, and 17, 2013. The series will feature the return of members of “Classical Mystery Tour” and present a POPS recreation of Beatles songs such as Penny Lane, Yesterday, and I Am the Walrus.

The POPS 2012/2013 Season includes the following series:

· Holiday POPS! December 7-22, 2012
· Mostly Gershwin: featuring Marcus Roberts February 8,9,10, 2013
· An Evening with Lennon and McCartney March 15, 16, 17, 2013; Michael Krajewski, Guest Conductor
· Bond and Beyond: featuring Debbie Gravitte April 26, 27, 28, 2013; Michael Krajewski, Guest Conductor
· Super POPS Broadway May 10,11,12, 2013
