Josh Rivedal, a professional actor based in Manhattan, brings his 30 character one man show "The Gospel According to Josh" to The Media Theatre Wednesday night November 3. The poignant, humorous coming of age tale will take place at 7:30pm in the theatre's Crystal Room, known as the 104 East Cabaret  space. A cash bar will be available.

Media Theatre audiences will remember Rivedal as he has been seen in  two musical productions, both directed by Artistic Director Jesse Cline: "Elton John's AIDA" and "Thrill Me: The Leopold and Loeb Story". He received rave reviews for his work in both shows.

"The Gospel According to Josh" is an 'autobiography with fiction' centered around his own life experiences. In the show, he portrays a Jersey boy pursuing his dreams to make it big in Hollywood despite the objections of, and  his tempestuous relationship with, his pious father. It touches on his religious  upbringing and his eventual escape to New York City, including a look into a  final showdown with his father. Rivedal adds cameos by Ella Fitzgerald, Moms  Mabley, Elvis Presley, and Sammy Davis, Jr. for an evening of avant-garde cabaret.

Show Business Weekly says "The Gospel is a personal yet lighthearted  show about one man's journey to discover his own fate and identity. The fact that there is a slew of songs and caricatures thrown in makes for a smooth and amusing ride." Tickets are $20. Call 610-891-0100 or (http://www.mediatheatre.org)
