Lantern Theater Company has received a $10,000 grant from the Lincoln Financial Foundation for fiscal year 2017 in support of the Lantern's Illumination program.

Illumination, the Lantern's award-winning education program, engages local students in the world of theater and nurtures their artistic expression, reaching the Greater Philadelphia region through in-school residencies, discount matinee performances, and after school drama clubs throughout the city. Lantern Theater Company Education Director M. Craig Getting expressed the Lantern's appreciation for the grant saying, "We are grateful for the generosity shown by the Lincoln Financial Foundation. Their ongoing support allows us to maintain the important partnerships that bring drama to classrooms in some of Philadelphia's most underserved schools."

The Lincoln Financial Foundation, the philanthropic arm of Lincoln Financial Group, believes that strong economies begin with strong communities. Its grant is part of Lincoln Financial's $10 million in annual charitable contributions to support education, human services, arts and economic/workforce development programs in key cities across the country where the company has a strong business presence.
