Gregory's moving play inspired by the true story of the factory workers of the U.S. Radium Corporation. RADIUM GIRLS concludes Flat Earth's 2015 season 'Progress and Peril,' stories of scientific progress and the lives it has ruined, which also featured critically acclaimed productions of Ted Tally's TERRA NOVA in February and Aaron Sorkin's THE FARNSWORTH INVENTION in June. Ford's Theatre Society today announced that Tim Getman (Round House's Rapture, Blister, Burn; Fool for Love), Mitchell Hebert (Ford's The Laramie Project), Josh Sticklin (Keegan Theatre's Midsummer Night's Riot), Kathryn Tkel (Kennedy Center's Mockingbird) and Craig Wallace (Ford's The Laramie Project, Our Town, Necessary Sacrifices, others) will comprise the cast of The Guard, a world-premiere comedic drama by playwright Jessica Dickey. What do you get when you combine a lesbian couple with trust issues, a straight couple with accumulation issues, a single guy with commitment issues, and an aquarium shark with glass issues? It could only be Swimming in the Shallows by Adam Bock, a comedy with a bite. Kitchen Theatre Company is trying to stop laughing long enough to say that the production is opening for previews tonight, April 29, with the press opening on May 2 and performances through May 17. The Ford's Theatre Society 2014-2015 season continues with the musical Freedom's Song: Abraham Lincoln and the Civil War, directed by Jeff Calhoun, March 13 through May 20, 2015, at the historic Ford's Theatre (511 Tenth Street NW, Washington, D.C.). A new adaptation of the Broadway musical The Civil War, Freedom's Song features the words of Abraham Lincoln and music inspired by the letters of those who lived through the Civil War. The production is part of Ford's 150: Remembering the Lincoln Assassination, a series of events marking the 150 years since Abraham Lincoln's assassination at Ford's Theatre. (more...)

BPA Theatre School begins taking enrollments for the Spring Session (mid-April - late May) on February 12. The Spring Session includes offerings in five primary programs: Developing Actors, Building Character, Teen Intensive, Performance Series, and Specialty Classes. BPA is also delighted open enrollment for the "SEUSSICAL JR. Production Camp" (July 6 - August 1) and the "Intermediate Intensive + SEUSSICAL JR. Production Camp" (June 29 - August 1).
