ABC Announces Development Deal with TV Anchor and Journalist Tamron Hall

Disney|ABC announced today that it has entered into a development holding agreement with award-winning TV anchor and journalist Tamron Hall. The studio will work with Hall to create and develop a daytime talk show, which she will host, for the syndication marketplace.

ABC announced today a two-hour prime-time special celebrating 90 years of Mickey Mouse. From the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles, California, the elegant affair will feature star-studded musical performances, moving tributes and never-before-seen short films. Superstars from music, film and television will join the festivities to celebrate the birthday of the internationally beloved character on “Mickey's 90th Spectacular,” airing SUNDAY, NOV. 4 (8:00-10:00 p.m. EST), on The ABC Television Network.

LA Master Chorale To Open 2018/19 Season With The Mozart Requiem and Special Events

The Los Angeles Master Chorale will open its 2018/19 concert season in Walt Disney Concert Hall with two performances of The Mozart Requiem on Saturday, September 22 at 2 PM and Sunday, September 23 at 7 PM. The performances will feature the full 100-voice Master Chorale and Orchestra, and will be conducted by Grant Gershon, Kiki & David Gindler Artistic Director. Guest soloists for the Requiem are Liv Redpath (soprano), J'Nai Bridges (mezzo-soprano), David Portillo (tenor), and Rod Gilfry (baritone). The concerts will open with Shawn Kirchner's Songs of Ascent-a setting of the Psalms sung by pilgrims journeying to Jerusalem-commissioned and premiered by the Master Chorale in 2015 when Kirchner was the Swan Family Composer-in-Residence. These performances will include three Psalms Kirchner has since added to the piece.

Hulu has boarded the critically acclaimed Australian series Safe Harbour for its U.S. debut as a Hulu Original Series. In a deal with NBCUniversal Television and New Media Distribution, the four-part event drama is the latest internationally-produced series to join Hulu's growing slate of thought-provoking original series, and will make its debut on August 24th.

New Musical STONE AND SPARROW To Make New York Debut At Feinstein's/54 Below

Feinstein's/54 Below will present a staged concert of "Stone and Sparrow", a new musical by composer-lyricist Alex Ratner and librettist Laurel Durning-Hammond. "Stone and Sparrow" is a period drama about one family's move from the Appalachian Mountains of Kentucky to a coal mining town on the eve of the Great Depression. The show was developed at Yale as the Theatre Department's premiere faculty-directed original musical, and was selected as a winner of the 2016 New Voices Project, sponsored by New Musicals, Inc. and Walt Disney Imagineering. The show features an entirely acoustic pop/folk score.

Walt Disney Records is set to release Disney's Christopher Robin Original Motion Picture digital soundtrack on August 3. The score features music by Emmy Award-winning Geoff Zanelli ("Into the West," "Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales") and Grammy-nominated composer Jon Brion ("Lady Bird," "Trainwreck"). Disney's "Christopher Robin" is in theaters nationwide also on August 3.

Berkeley Repertory Theatre today announced final casting for A Doll's House, Part 2, written by Lucas Hnath and directed by Les Waters, which begins previews on Thursday, September 6 and runs through Sunday, October 21. TRILLS Release Sneak Peek Of New Single Ahead Of World Premiere Edinburgh Show

Award-wining female four-piece, TRILLS, have today released a sneak peek of their latest single 'Green Ghost', set for digital release on 10th August. The single forms part of the soundtrack to their brand-new play-come-gig Songlines by band member Tallulah Brown, a song-laced coming of age tale set in Reydon, Suffolk, featuring live folk music with the band on stage throughout. Songlines will premiere at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival from 1 August before travelling to Aldeburgh, Suffolk-born Brown's home town, and then to Walthamstow for the show's London premiere. The production, directed by George Chilcott, is presented by HighTide and DugOut Theatre.
