The Board of Governors of Le Petit Theatre du Vieux Carre announced the hiring of Maxwell Williams, Associate Artistic Director of the highly regarded Hartford Stage in Connecticut, as the theatre's new Artistic Director. Williams has been a member of the Hartford Stage artistic team for several years, serving as Associate Artistic Director for the past three seasons. Hartford Stage seasons regularly include world premieres of plays and musicals by established and emerging writers, including the 2011 Pulitzer Prize winner Water by the Spoonful and the recent Broadway hit, A Gentleman's Guide to Love and Murder. We reported earlier this week that Laura Michelle Kelly was headed back to Broadway in Finding Neverland, via a NY Times scoop. Today, producer Harvey Weinstein confirmed that Olivier Award winner Laura Michelle Kelly (Mary Poppins) and three-time TonyŽ Award-nominee Carolee Carmello (Parade), who played the roles of Sylvia Llewelyn Davis and Madame du Maurier, respectively, in Finding Neverland when it premiered at the American Repertory Theatre earlier this year, will reprise their roles on Broadway. The Tank, a non-profit arts presenter located in the heart of midtown, is proud to present the New York premiere Third Floor, a new play by Jason Hall, directed by Laura Pittenger, featuring Brad Root and Abigail Ludrof, with original compositions by Adam Cuthbert (universe explosion for the Bang on a Can Summer Festival), fight choreography by Meron Langsner (who has worked at The American Repertory Theatre and ArtsEmerson), and produced by LA Pittenger Productions. The show comes to The Tank following a successful engagement at the Lower Ossington Theatre in Toronto produced by DeCo. The show runs today, October 10-11, 17-18 at 7pm, with a 3pm performance October 19 at The Tank, 151 West 46th Street, 8th Floor in Manhattan. (more...)
