BEETS, by local playwright Rick Padden, will play the Fox Studio Theatre, January 16 through February 8, 2015.

?Danny Bernardy is set to take on the role of leading male "Andrew Polinski" in the hit Off-Broadway comedy "My Big Gay Italian Wedding" opposite creator Anthony J. Wilkinson. Bernardy will be replacing Brandon Goins who took his final bow Saturday night after almost two years in the role. Goins is currently the longest to play the role since the production was conceived back at the Actors Playhouse back in 2003.

Winner of the 2013 Northern Virginia Theater Alliance Award for Best Production, Samuel A. Simon's THE ACTUAL DANCE, with original music by Eli Zoller, and directed by Kate Holland will play a limited engagement at the Studio Theatre (Theatre Row, 410 West 42nd Street). Performances are Saturday, January 10th at 2:00 pm through Sunday, February 1st at 3:00 pm.

Firehouse Theatre presents the world premiere of the winner of the 2013 Festival of New American Plays, This World We Know by award-winning playwright Kelly Younger. The Dramatists Guild Fund awards $170,000 to theaters across the country. As a part of its mission to support writers, the Dramatists Guild Fund provides grants to non-profit theaters and theatrical institutions across the country that develop and/or produce contemporary American plays and musicals.

Playhouse on Park continues its Main Stage series with the 2001 Pulitzer prize-winning and Tony award-winning show Proof written by David Auburn, which opens Friday, January 23 at 8:00 p.m. Proof follows the young Catherine, who faces her father Robert's untimely death on the eve of her twenty-fifth birthday. While she may have inherited her father's genius, Catherine seems to share the same deteriorating wits and emotional instability. She must also face the arrival of Claire, her estranged sister; and a developing relationship with Hal, a mentee of her late father who seeks to find a mathematical breakthrough hidden within the 103 notebooks Robert left behind. Proof will be playing from January 21-February 8, 2015.
